Another pointless ass poll posted on day one of training camp about Sanchez and Smith that will go half and half. What exactly is the point of these things? It has been talked about for months, why do we need another poll that will end the same way?

The support for Buttfumble Headband is completely baffling. Sanchez has to significantly out play Geno to start I believe.

...and with 1/10th of 1% of the precincts reporting, TGG projects Mark Smith as the NYG QB Sweepstakes Winner for 2013.

Could we've maybe waited for the SECOND DAY of training camp at Cortland...or, maybe the 1st effin' weekend? Unreal....

I am tired of posts questioning the validity of a thread. Who the fuck are you anyway? The big football authority?

Kaepernick was pretty legit in college too let's not discredit him. I don't want Geno to be Andy Dalton because Andy Dalton can't win big games. The more I hear about Geno the more I think he could be similar to Wilson they are both gym rats I like that trait from Geno, but I don't want to rush the process.

Sanchez is fundamentally flawed but he can help us win games he has helped is win 33 games as a starter we cannot discount that.

I would want Geno to dominate Sanchez to truly show he's the man not be on par with him that's not good enough.

If its even we should go with Mark because I don't want Geno to get overwhelmed like Mark did.

Mark struggles in consecutive weeks def put Geno in. We don't know this case yet.

I want Geno to start, but it will probably be Muckchez.

This is what I don't understand. Why are people so afraid about Geno starting right away? If he's ready and proven himself in TC and preseason then he should start. Sanchez would have to outplay Geno substantially to be considered over Geno. It also doesn't benefit Geno to sit and watch the worst starting QB play ahead of him.

Do you think if Rex makes the decision to start Sanchez, Idzik would override his decision and tell him to start Geno? Assuming both quarterbacks play good through preseason and there is no clear cut leader going into the regular season.

Playing against other teams is a whole nother monster. Aaron Rodgers, Colin Kaepernick do you not like those success stories?

Learning from others mistakes ain't bad either.

At least Rodgers was playing behind Favre and Kap was playing behind a solid QB in Smith.

The answer is simple the Jets want to win. The only ones throwing the season away is the fans. Playing Qb takes time Rex defense made Andrew Luck look like idiot what do you think Dc will do to Geno? Love or hate Sanchez he is now a veteran Qb and gives the Jets the best chance to win.

You start a rookie Qb when you have a great running game a great defense or you do not have any expectations of winning. The Jets do not have great running game the defense I'd being revamped and Rex needs to win to save his job. There is no way Geno starts while the Jets are still in playoff contention. Really not that hard to comprehend.

Stop please Rex is the coach not Idzik. Do not believe half the shit you read on here. Rex will start whoever gives the Jets the best chance to win until they are out of playoff contention.

if sanchez and geno are close geno has to start. that just shows that marks ceiling is geno's floor. why start mark at that point whne geno could improve as the season goes on, where mark would eb at his peak already.

I see this as geno's job to lose,if he keeps pace than he wins. mark only wins by pulling away

Sanchez needs to have one of those tiny mirrors bike riders wear attached to his helmet so he can keep track of Geno Smith.

We've seen rookies come in and teams win games. Who's to say that the Jets couldn't overachieve with Geno? If he's ready let then he should start.

Not really we have seen rookies like RGIII and RW win with a 1600 yard rusher. I will give you luck but Geno is no Luck. Geno has flaws that he needs to correct he also needs to learn an NFL offense he also needs learn to read defenses hot reads blitzes etc It is a lot to ask and the Jets are not ready to lose. Let the kid learn he was second round pick so the pressure starting right away will not be there.

The problem is you guys all think Mark is much worse than he really is. At very least Mark is vet Qb that has seen everything. Geno is still trying to fiqure out where the bathroom is.

Think logically instead of blind hate for Mark and you will realize there is a very small chance Geno starts. Remember Mccelroy and Ratcliff were also great preseason Qbs.

Unless you have a great running game you do not start a rookie especially a second rd pick rookie

Geno isn't the first nor will he be the last rookie that has things they need to work on. It makes no sense to sit Geno just for the sake of it. If he's ready then let him play. Let him get his experience. Sanchez had 1 year starting experience at USC and was the starting QB in 09. Sanchez despite his struggles gained valuable experience that year. Even if Geno struggles at first it'll help him learn what not to do if he's in that same situation again. Let the vet sit and if necessary Sanchez can step in when called upon.

yeah theres the sitting rookies that come in and take over like Kap and Rodgers and then theres RG3 and Luck, two rookies prepped for the NFL from the get-go.

But then theres also Wilson. A 3rd rounder that nobody was expecting to win the job that beat out the supposed clear front runner.

Will this happen? not necessarily, but lets not forget that its a possibility.

Rookies don't always have to sit and learn, they might surprise you with what they have and how they can run things, even if they don't seem like they can.

That is great if you have great running game. The jets do not have that. Again the jets want to win not play a qb to give him experience for the future.
