but it did for sanchez? or at least for many here (including myself)? i don't get how it can work for some but not others. seriously, rodgers is the real deal. edit: to clarify though, brady, manning, rodgers, brees, rivers (imo)
If we're talking about passers Roethlisberger shouldn't be considered, but if we're talking about quarterbacks, then he's a top level player at the position.
I would agree wholeheartedly that Rodgers is the real deal and he's one of the best up and coming QB's. But I would not put him ahead of Brees, Manning, or Brady at this point.
I really dont know why people are blowing Brees so much. The guys had high quality HBs his whole career, and he really only had 2 good seasons on a team absolutely loaded with talent. I think people need to take a step back and stop sucking him off for a moment.
Guilty as charged. Two thirds of the votes are by players and coaches (you know, those closest to the game).
This is the list I agree with the most, although I think Brees belongs above Rivers either way. On pure QB talent I got; Manning Rodgers Brady Brees Rivers Vick Ben
If were going off of Pro Bowls I guess Vince Young and David Garrard are two of the best qbs in the nfl ? Easily on the same tier as Rodgers amright ?
I just don't consider him in the class of the other QBs on the list. Brady, the greatest system QB ever: an already great QB on a team that expertly uses spacing and quickness to make him even more dominant. Manning, the field general who truly guides his team as a coach on the field and makes things happen, especially before the snap. Rodgers, the total package who hasn't earned the right yet to call his own plays but makes things happen with his ability to literally throw on the run and his outstanding strength and accuracy. Rivers, the pure passer who showed this season he could throw to just about anybody. Brees, the master of multiple weapons who manages to spread the ball like no one else short of Brady in order to spread defenses thin. Vick, the escape artist who somehow went away for a few years and came back a MUCH improved passer. Ben's a winner. He's a competitor. He's a backyard QB who is better in broken plays than set ones. He's also far too often a mild liability for his team to be considered with the above.
Does that mean you should be stripped of your Draft Guru award? (j/k, I largely agree with you on the PB.)
I can't disagree with his Pro-Bowl stance. The PB is a freakin joke. But you cannot discount the fact that players are selected by a majority vote from the players themselves and their coaches. That speaks volumes.
Meh. They're sending their mates to Hawaii for an end of season jolly. If there's a player who is extremely good at what he does but is widely considered to be a right cunt, they aren't going to vote for him, and as cuntitude has not yet been factored into how effective or otherwise a player is it rather devalues the whole thing as a measure by which to judge them.
Wish I could fit this whole thing into my sig. Other than Manning (Full disclaimer: I LOATHE Manning and will never give him an ounce of credit- yes I am biased and don't give a shit) I think the is an awesome analysis!
I'd rather have Rodgers at this moment than Brady. He throws as good a ball, is more mobile, is younger, takes care of the football, and now has the Super Bowl championship. Rodgers Brady Vick Manning Rivers Brees Rothlisberger
Okay ... that helps my argument even more. Dree Brees has been selected as a first and second team All Pro.
This is a pretty spot on assessment. You might say Ben's a bit Favreish. Maybe a little less so, but still. Those picks he threw last night didn't help the Steelers.
