Ochocinco, Plax and T.O. make more sense than Housh, and I'm not really in favor of any of those guys. Think all of those guys would hurt just as much as they help. Hill has played a few years in the league. So has Schilens. Obviously, neither has the experience of the others listed, but they won't get it unless they play. But honestly, why not ride or die with the young players? See if Schilens, Gates or Jason Hill can earn himself a contract next year. See what Kerley can do with extended playing time. When Stephen Hill is back, feed him like crazy and see how he can develop.
TO, and Ocho make no sense really. They would be very vocal about our QB, System, and team. Plax is done, and is why no one is willing to even have him in for a tryout. Housh is a team player, with a professional attitude. For the Record, I believe we have something in Hill, and would like to see him grow. I believe Kerley is a bonafide Slot Receiver, and I don't believe we have a terrible WR corp. I am just throwing Housh out there.
Better Q: Who is the #2 TE? Epps got hurt/cut, Keller is out. Who is the FB? I don't know that either.
I figured, but he's looked completely washed up since 2010. I could make a case for any of the others over Housh, if those were the only options, but I don't really want any part of any of them. I think Jason Hill could be decent. Would rather have him than Clyde Gates, unless we find a way to use his speed. Stephen Hill and Kerley I think will be a big part of the Jets passing game for the next 5+ years. But Stephen needs to be on the field.
I'm shocked that hasn't been done already. Bringing him in would have made more sense than some nobody that got cut from Jacksonville. Unless the Jets secretly think Sanchez isn't long for this world anyway (vis-a-vis him being the starter).
The fact that we signed a journeyman WR over Sanchez's friend the 7th round pick who can't get on any team is a sign that Sanchez is on the out? Evil Knievel doesn't make that leap.
Jason Hill isn't even good enough to be a journeyman, he's a scrub. And McKnight at least was with the team a couple of times, no? It's easier to bring in a guy midseason if he has a cursory knowledge of the playbook and the QB. How, exactly is Jason Hill going to help at this point? Besides, Jason Hill wasn't getting on any team either before the Jets called.
Hill isnt exactly good but he has experience. He's definitely better then a guy with 0 career catches.
We could have Plaxico out there right now but this stupid ass of a GM won't sign him! Even for the vet min he won't sign him! The only thing I can figure is that Rex and Tanny know this season is already over and are shooting for the highest draft spot they can get now. It's the only rationale that fits these mystifying moves they've made here.
Imagine the scene, MNF, the PA announcer is doing the starting lineups when a low rumble begins from the bowels of the stadium, when you hear "AND JUST SIGNED AN HOUR AGO, MAKING HIS EMERGENCY RETURN TO THE JETS, YOU KNOW HIM, YOU LOVE HIM, YOUR HERO AND SAVIOUR, NUMBER 80, WAYYYYYYYYNNEEE CHREBETTTTT!!" and then i woke up
