The team seems on target to pick the Qb on or about the third game. I sincerely doubt we hear anything on this until another week. I am interested in hearing the speculation here, but we all acknowledge, I would hope, that it is merely that. I guess the good news from camp is that the team is not poised to pick the guy who did worse at camp, since they both seem close. I seem to recall the Jets doing that very thing not too long ago...
LOL, I put this up a few hours ago, and come back to find 62-11 in favor of Sanchez , wow, I thought it would be alot closer. Wonder if Rex ever visits this site?
Totally agree, but with 3 starting O linemen out, the snaps are now going to be limited, and I actually now believe that the decision has pretty much been made (behind closed doors) unless something spectacular happens between now and the last pre season game.
Under normal circumstances I'd go with the vet but both QB's are coming in to a new system under a new coaching staff. It's obvious sanchez is the future so go ahead and acclimate him. But there's still a few preseason games to play ... the best QB will surface. I trust the coaches to make the right decision.
As of now, Clemens is listed #1 on the unofficial depth chart so you would assume the job is his to lose. That said, preseason games will tell a lot. Again, you have to trust the coaches to make these decisions. They are with these guys a lot more than the media guys (hence ... where we get our info from).
I'll be there, I'm a little disappointed on how many people are sitting it out but I think Ainge has a helluva an arm so I'm hoping for a good show.
A little scary with such a patchwork OL. Watch both contenders go down and out. Actually, I don't think you will see a lot of passing out of either of them now that I think about it.
Thats gonna suck I was looking forward to seeing Sanchez's arm. I'm hoping one of them steps up big and end this question once and for all.
Sanchez got the starting job in the war room on draft day. I think it's been his job to lose since the minute he was drafted. The fact that the "competition" is pretty much even gives me no reason to believe Kellen will get the nod. I think Kellen definately deserves his fair shot, but I'd be stunned if it came in NY.
I think Sanchez will get the nod. However, I think it would be great if both QBs stepped their game up a little bit. If Clemens can turn a corner in the preseason, I would be more than happy with him at the QB position and let Sanchez sit for a little bit. Sanchez seems like a guy who would benefit greatly from an extra month or two in the system. His teammates have said he never makes the same mistake twice and is learning and getting better every day.
