Wonderlic Scores http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Minnesotas-Decker-scores-a-43-on-the-Wonderlic.html And Eric Decker scored a 43 which was supposedly the best score overall
Golden Tate, hands down. He can easily come into the JETS system and take over in the slot and eventually help the offense start to become more balanced. He is a Steve Smith clone and is just hard to bring down and he just fights for every yard. His toughness and playmaking ability speaks for itself.
Which one? He's similar to both in a lot of ways. Both smaller receivers. Tate is faster than the G-men's version and can return punts like Carolina's. All of them are overachievers physically but Golden Tate proved that he's pretty fast at the combine. I like him because he's a pretty safe bet as a slot receiver.
Maybe I'm biased, but I'm going Tate on this one. Versatility is key, and Tate has proven to be incredibly versatile (a RB in high school, converted to a WR who could line up anywhere). He was often double teamed in college, and still managed to make some ridiculous plays, and was incredibly elusive. I think he could definitely be a Wes Welker type slot guy. I think he could be a lot of things. I think drafting him would be a great plan personally because of his versatility, even if he doesn't have Bryant's upside.
Bryant will be the better prototypical wideout for some team, but Tate is a better fit for the JETS (unless they expect to lose Edwards)
I think Edwards is going to get over his dropsies. His heart seems to be there after he got all sappy about finding his "new home". Maybe Rhodes leaving will have a positive impact on him, maybe. If he gets upset about being tendered, he's a joke. Wait to play a full season with a team before you go asking for a long-term contract Braylon loaf of brEdwards.
Honestly I would rather waite and pick up Damian Williams from Southern California in the second round. He has played with Sanchez and they already have a good working relationship, which would help him contribute quickly.
i think tate would fit in perfectly here, esp if we put him in the wildcat with brad smith and/or leon washington
I watched almost all of Tate's college games at ND and he has amazing hands and really good agility. I think he is exactly the kind of guy that Sanchez needs, especially with Edwards's drops. Tate is the kind of guy that Sanchez can throw a less then perfect pass to on a scramble and still be sure of a catch.
I think Tate would be a good player in the league and a weapon. That said, I'd only pick him for the Jets if we were losing Leon Washington. Tate's enough of a playmaker where I'd be happy to throw him back as a returner/all-around offensive weapon to replace Leon as the spark.
Adam_Schefter Initial reports on Dez Bryant's 40-yard dash are not encouraging. One scout in attendance texted that Bryant clocked an unconfirmed 4.57. 15 minutes ago via web
i dunno about that...he could very well fall to 29. I killed a few chickens in lieu of him taking a shit on his Pro Day. looks like it's paying off.
I still can't believe how much stock is put into 40 times. Bryant is still far and away the best WR in the draft.
According to Gil Brandt he ran a 4.52 2 x's and dropped a bunch of passes. To many this demonstrated immaturity and a bad work ethic. The kid didn't play at all this year and has had nothing to do but prepare for today. I think it drops him to #3 reciever, behind Thomas and Tate/Benn. Kids attitude seems riskier and riskier.
So many posters got pissed when I said he could turn out like USC's Mike Williams. Bryant has the ability to be a dominant receiver, but he could also be out of the league in a few years. People are calling Carlos Dunlap the biggest boom or bust prospect in this draft - Bryant's giving him a run for his money.
