Yea maybe that's because I refuse to have low expectations every year like every other Jet fan for the last 40 years. When do we get to have high expectations?the year 2080?

If we get Marcus Peters with our second pick there is no way we had a bad draft.

I'd take Torry Holt over Julio Jones anytime. Cooper has some Antonio Brown to his game as well.

Have whatever expectations you want, just don't be surprised when people bring you back down to earth.

i dont think we necessarily blame anyone. If a defensive player is BPA then why not take one? I hate need based drafting. If there is an offensive player as highly rated on the board then sure. I'd like to see how free agency pans out before saying I'd flip out with a defensive pick.

If the board is a certain way and there aren't viable trade back opportunities then sure take the defensive player. Let's say Vic Beasley is the best player on the board. Are you going to leave him there just to take an offensive player? I hope not.

I think this is a strange draft, seems like Winston def going to go 1 to tampa, I agree with the school of thought that Mariota is gonna be a project player. Leaves the jets in a strage position, if they don't go WR I don't know what there gonna do. I'm hoping chip Kelly is so in love with Mariota hell trade with us, but now jax is saying they are willing to trade out. My friend works for michael Irving and he's at the combine, he's telling me the Jets are looking to take fowler. So I wouldn't be surprised if they go defense.

Trade back or take WR/CB at number 6.

Adding Peters behind a 1st round pick would be sweet. But once he sits down, interviews well and gets the green light, unfortunately I don't see him lasting until the #37pick in the 2nd. And the fact that the Univ. of Washington has put his suspension behind them and is allowing him to have his pro day there will only help his standing as well.

I love Fowler, man watch some film on this kid, he doesn't just sack the QB he makes them suffer and he had been doing it since high school.
Couple of shots on Brady like that in a game and he folds like a lawn chair.

I like him don't get me wrong!

I see it like this, Bowles uses his ilb position as a true field general. Look at Dansby, Washington and Foote.. He excelled with those guys and in some cases enhanced/rejuvenated their careers. Plus our DC was a LB coach... As much as I would want Cooper or White (Winston and Mariota gone) I think they will take their "defensive QB" in Fowler Jr.

Id take a surefire pass rushing OLB over a question mark offensive player at #6 a day. Our roster is so depleted from picks like Hill, Millner, SanchiZe, Kyle Wilson that it's more important that we don't miss than that the player is on one side of the ball.

If they are a legit pass-rushing OLB I would have no issue with it. If we pick a DB or DT in that range I might lose my shit. CB is obviously a huge area of need but IMO we will address it in free agency and there isn't one worth the 6th overall pick.

My bet is by our pick both QBs are gone, one of the top WRs (probably Cooper), a DT and probably one of the OLBs. So we would have our pick of either the best remaining WR or OLB. At that point it comes down to who they have ranked higher on the board and, honestly, it's such a good year for WRs and OLBs that I don't think the second picked guys is necessarily going to be any worse than the first picked guy.

Bucky Brooks said that the kid from Michigan State is a 'blue chip prospect'.

I think he meant there were no CBs in this draft worth #6.

Considering the talent at other positions that isn't necessarily saying the CBs are bad.

This FO is under no obligation to pick offense. It is their first draft. And you are right, some will fume if they go D. But there are always fumers
