I was hoping for the Jets to trade down, get some picks and maybe get DeAngelo.
Mangold was always the choice at 29.
Once Leinart was available I was in the camp that thought we should have taken him.
Think about it. We could of had Leinart, Mangold and McNeil as he was available with our first 2nd round pick.

thats not the point of the thread. the point is to see how we felt before the draft and how we feel with a regular season behind us. I wonder how our draft wouldve looked had we kept Mawae...we should thank him for leaving, it worked out for us

I wanted Cutler in the worst way. Jabba and I were on his bandwagon early, and never got off. I'm not at all disappointed with what direction the Jets went in, we were desperate for O line help, and I was sure Pennington was done.

NFL games are still won and lost up front. I just thought we would take at least two years to be playoff worthy. I was wrong about that for sure, but I'm stickin to my guns on Cutler.... he's going to be a very good one.

I really wanted Cutler or Leinart at 4. Thomas Howard OLB at 29...

and I wanted to use a second and midround pick on OL.

I wanted Ferguson at 4 and Joseph Addai at 29. I also wanted the Jets to draft Clemens. Thought the 3rd or 4th round would have been appropriate. Alas, there were rumblings Clemens would have been selected by Minnesota in the 2nd round if the Jets passed on him.

aside from Mangold @ 29, i was pretty undecided about the 4 Pick & the 2nd rounder...i honestly didn't know much about mcNeil and in hindsite its easy to say he would have gone perfect with cutler and mangold...but aside from Nick I didn't have much to say about our first 3 picks...

    Same here.
I was pretty outspoken on the fact that we didn't need to use a #4 on an O-Line who "Needed work" or to "Gain Weight".
Use a #4 on an o-lineman if he's a Roaf or Pace but we all knew D'Brick wasn't that type....(Yet if ever).

No Issue in grabbin Mangold @ 29, No one here was excited with the Schlegel pick.Brad Smith got us all pretty excited but a sleeper in Eric Smith?
I think He's playing VERY well in that "Rover"/ Nickle Safety.

i was sold on vernon davis due to the placement of the draft him and chris baker at tight end that kinda would of been a mangini/bellichick move watson/graham we needed that fast tight end to stretch the field and the solid blocking tight end in baker but dont get me wrong bakers hands this season have been incredible
