So you go back and grab posts from people? You do not think they remember what they posted but you choose to call out posters when they might be wrong about a player for one game? You are the same guy that loves to correct peoples spelling too..throwing them under the bus if a word is spelled wrong. Perhaps you are right about Clowney. Copying past posts is pretty childish though.
It actually makes a ton of sense. In fact..Im going to copy and paste it and make a new thread. I would think people like me would keep you coming back... or do you want to live in a fantasy world where you're the only person in the world making obvious, logical points, and you're using your divine wisdom to correct the masses of sheep who are silly and just don't understand until DevTeam steps in. After all, I made an obvious and logical point that you clearly have a fetish with yourself and your obvious logical points, and crusade on making people that your obvious and logical points are rather obvious and logical, at least in your own head.
Anytime you use the quote function, you're copying a past post. So is there some sort of etiquette, or unwritten rule about using that function that I'm unaware of? Do you have a problem with correct spelling and grammar? I feel like I'm in the movie Idiocracy.
You know what, all you're doing is proving my point. If you actually think a dumbass post like that makes sense, then we're on two diametrically opposed paths on this earth and I can't continue to talk to you.
Yes..but waking up early in the morning...kissing your mommy hello and telling her you have no time for breakfast because you must search back posts from last week to call out a poster on a player that was used for 2 and a half quarters is kind of weird......no?
Just finished watching the game. Although Clowney did not have any catches, he had a couple of nice blocks down field in the running game. One might also argue that Clowney's presence opened things up underneath for Stuckey.
I get this sneaking suspicion I'm arguing with people under the age of 18... "kissing your mommy hello and telling her you have no time for breakfast" what the hell are you talking about? Do you actually think that's funny? I'm guessing you still live with your mom if that's the first thing you think of when you go to insult someone. Isn't this a Jets board? Do you have any counterpoints to my original post other than reducing yourself to the level of asinine, immature name calling? YEEEOOOWWWW. You should be embarrassed... no matter what your age is.
He is making a counterpoint to your original post. In your original post, you made two basic points: 1) Clowney's not a #1 receiver. 2) People should praise you for your clairvoyance in understanding point #1. I doubt very many people disagree with point #1... I certainly don't. The disagreement is with point #2, to which the counterpoint is, get over yourself.
That may be, but as I said, the point of a receiver is primarily to catch the ball. He didn't do that -- we need to get another quality receiver via a trade or in next years draft. I hope we can make it through the season, because if one of these dudes gets injured, we're going to have a serious depth issue. I made the point that this all goes back to Tannenbaum before. We need to build through the draft, when's the last time we drafted a receiver in the top three rounds? When you ask that question, the present situation is pretty easy to understand. It's tough to draft a receiver in the top 3 rounds when you don't have any draft picks...
This is the ONE thing I hate about this site. Every other asshole on here thinks they know more than everyone else. How dare someone have a diff. opinion than you. There are @ a dozen posters who's word is gospel and everyone elses is shit. If all of you know so much about football like so many of you claim then why is it that you have to come here to push your views on people and can't do it for a living. Call someone a whore for doing what this site is intended for, posting thoughts. Un fucking real. It's people like you that make posters leave. I've been a fan for 30 years and I have a real problem with people telling me I don't know what I'm talking about. THESE ARE OPINIONS. Most of you prob. never even have played organized football. It's the old "if you can't do, teach" crap. We all support the same team, you know.
#2 is a joke. Maybe I should clarify when I say that: I'm kidding about apologizing to me. I don't seriously expect people to apologize to me after having some banter about a scrub receiver on our team. When I said: Is it not obvious that I'm joking?
Well, if you actually were joking then I apologize for jumping down your throat. It wasn't obvious to me. There are a lot of people on this board who I wouldn't put it past to feel they deserve the sort of praise it seemed like you were looking for in your post. After all, you were calling out people for being wrong, and your sample size was 1 game, which doesn't exactly justify your point, even if I don't necessarily disagree with it. So no, it wasn't obvious.
Well, my OPINION is that Clowney is a scrub receiver. If you don't think he is, I disagree with you. Since my opinion is that he isn't very good, I'm going to point it out when I think my opinion is being proven correct. I care deeply about the Jets which is why I have such strong opinions. I'm not going to start calling people names or insulting people. I use the site for what I believe to be its intended purpose, to have lively debate about different topics as they relate to the team. What's wrong with that? So, basically, I'm doing exactly what you're suggesting but you seem pissed off; I intone that because you basically called me an asshole. Thanks. I'm wrong on things all the time, and I'm not afraid to admit it: 1) I liked the Favre trade 2) I thought Just McCareins would be good 3) I thought Gholston would be a beast. Just to name a few.
Cool -- I'll be clearer when I'm attempting to be humorous. That said, several people were jumping all over me when I disagreed with their assertion that Clowney should be a starter on this team, I felt people were getting WAY ahead of themselves. To boil it all down, all I was saying: 1) Clowney should be a 4th receiver, at best on any team, including the Jets. 2) I'm ticked at the FO for not doing a better job in addressing depth at the WR position 3) Comparing Clowney to Lee Evans, and suggesting he's better than Evans in any way is absurd. 4) Catching balls against scrub DBs in the preseason is not indicative of how a player will perform against a first team defense. That's it. When people reduce themselves to petty insults, name calling and pointless banter, that's when I get pissed off. And in my opinion, a lot of that has been going on around here lately.
If this was a Super Bowl contending team that was a #1 WR away, like the Giants for example, I too would be clammering for some sort of trade. Since IMO we are a 500/botherline playoffs ball club, I am OK with the current group of WRs. As our rookie QB gains immeasurable experience this year, we may get lucky and have one of these young WRs (i.e., Clowney, Stuckey, Allison...etc.) emerge as a viable #2 or #1. Cotchery was not considered a "quality receiver" until he was given the opportunity.
