I think the worst teams are Buffalo, Cleveland, and Washington. I went with Buffalo. It's like they're not even trying. I think Minnesota is in the process of crashing hard and finishes 4th in that division, but I don't know that they'll be "worst team in the league" bad.
How are they "not trying"? Let me guess, you know football better then Buddy Nix and Chan Gailey right.....Just because they are not building the way YOU think a team should look doesn't mean they are gonna suck. To say Buffalo is the worst team is a huge stretch. Denver, Cincy, Washington, Miami, Seattle, 49ers, Carolina, are in far worse situations. BTW, Merriman has been blowing up plays like a madman in camp. Our defense will be top 7 in the league, bank it.
Sad. Denver has a better staff than the Bills, and a better supporting cast for whichever QB wins out. Cincy is in a bad spot. They can be equally bad as the Bills. Seattle could either surprise or fail. They beat the Saints in january. It can't be overlooked. The 9ers are better than the Bills. No one disagrees with that. Carolina I'll give you. They need tons of help. You're prediction history is shit. I have a QB who thrives in the playoffs, you said Trent Edwards would be better than him.
Denver does not have a better supporting cast then us. Cincy WILL have the worst record. Yeah the Alex Smith 49ers are really frightning. I'll admit.....Sanchez played and had a better season then I thought he would. But just stop the Buffalo ignorism, you guys are going to look foolish for even mentioning them as the worst come January.
You're opinion of your team is far beyond biased. It's fucking stupid. The Bills have a better supporting cast than Denver? Kyle Orton is proven, he's got a top tier left tackle protecting his blindside, and a better all-around receiving corps than Fitzgerald's working with in Buffalo. CJ Spiller isn't a good fit in Buffalo. Fred Jackson is an overachiever wouldn't start anywhere but Buffalo. The only player worth a crap on Buffalo's offense is Steve Johnson. Brad Smith is a role player - he's not going to do anything as a receiver in Buffalo. I guarantee that. Cincinnati has a talented running back and they just drafted the best wideout prospect since Randy Moss. The Niners have Vernon Davis, Mike Crabtree, and Frank Gore. I'm not a big Crabtree supporter, but he's better than everyone in Buffalo's offense. Talent wise, the Bills are the worst team in the NFL.
Fred Jackson wouldn't start anywhere but Buffalo? Crabtree is better then any offensive player in Buffalo? Cincy has a RB and a rookie......im real impressed Only player worth a crap is Stevie J?.....Eric Wood, Andy Levitre, Jackson, Evans, Parrish, and Evans all say hello I agree about Brad Smith, he wont see much action on offense or special teams here.
I didn't say Buffalo would be the worst, but bottom 5 is still the designated spot for the Bills. I pointed out how some of the teams you listed are not going to be worse than the bills.
If the Bills receiving corps was worth a shit, people would actually talk about them. Steve Johnson is the only guy worth a shit, like Electric said. Levitre is the best blocker on the team, and Wood has to stay healthy. Parrish and Evans are replaceable.
My "not trying" comment comes from the Bills not having a QB since...Bledsoe? Wasting their time with the JP Losmans and Ryan Fitzpatricks of the world. Why pass on all those QB's this year? Maybe they're not trying on purpose to get Luck. As for those WR's, you never answered me in the other thread...
Okay that i can respect. I expect the media and the majority of NFL fans to have us in the bottom 5. But i really think we will shock them and go 10-6 this year. I havn't been this optimistic since 2004. I expected around an 8-8 season last year, but since that was the first year of the Nix Fix and the Chan Plan maybe i got ahead of myself lol. But we are a much improved team and like i said Merriman has been blowing it up in training camp. Hopefully he stays healthy. Our D could be dominant if he constantly gets in the QB's face.
I wouldn't call it "not trying though" We traded back in the first round to get Losman and he was thrown in a rough situation. Never really got a fair chance. We struck out with Trent Edwards. Poor drafting in the early rounds has been why we sucked. But that is seemingly changing now that Nix and Chan are here. Honestly would you have taken Gabbert or Luck with the #3 pick? 32nd run D last year and Dareus is about the safest pick you can make. Fitz well enter his first year as a season starter and the team really likes him and has chemistry. You can't underestimate that. The O-line gives him that extra "ummph" when blocking that they might not with a rookie or unknown QB. As for the WR'S, i must have missed or overlooked your question?
Dareus was a good pick, but I was surprised when you guys passed on Dalton and Kaepernick in the 2nd. And I basically have two questions about the WR's: Why did Kyle Wilson shut down Steve Johnson in week 17? (I offered some explanations above) When's the last time Lee Evans did anything? EDIT: Actually, Marquice Cole shut him down. So, same question, just Cole instead of Wilson.
I'm deeply regretting not putting the Bengals in this poll. If they're really as bad as they looked tonight and they hire a new coach and GM next offseason, the new regime probably won't show any loyalty to Andy Dalton. This could turn out to be a situation similar to the Panthers with Jimmy Clausen this past offseason.
It's the first pre-season game for a rookie quarterback, who's had close to no time with his offense.
The Pittsburgh Steelers. Before everyone hands me my ass let me get a word in. Big Ben has been a PR nightmare for the Rooney's the last 3 seasons even though he's taken them to the big game a couple of times. He's wearing thin with the FO and I believe the Steelers may take a shot at Luck to back up Ben for a couple of seasons then let Ben go into free agency and start over new with Luck at the helm. I know it might sound crazy. Proceed to destroy me.
