Wont it free up a roster spot when they put Curtis on IR?

    He doesn't take a roster spot if he's PUP/reserved for 6 weeks.

Martin on PUP would give the team an extra roster spot for the first six weeks, but thats still a temporary solution; after that, hes coming back. Unless hes on IR or retired, hes going to be on the roster for the bulk of the season, meaning at least one, and probably 2 backs currently on the roster wont be here.

He had a better YPC average last year than Martin and he was behind a considerably worse line (with Kendall at center, and Gragg at tackle).

I'd say Blaylock gts the boot. Leon Washington is the perfect 3rd down back, and he played at FSU which ran a spread offense where he came out of the backfield to catch the ball.

    RB: Houston, Suggs, Washington
    FB: Askew

Blaylock was a product of the dominating KC offensive line.......

    FB: Tutt and Jamar Martin

RB: Suggs, Houston(Goal line /short yardage), and Washington(3rd down/ change of pace back)

i see askew and blaylock as the odd men out

enough with the man love crap...ive hear this time and again....lame joke if you ask me..Askew was a 3rd rounder i beleive...someone correct me if im wrong...he has been backing up Sowell...a man that never got the chance until Richie bounced out of NY to Dallas...now its Askews time to take over and he'll do a good job of it...a 3rd round FB has to have some sort of upside

Why not worry about that when it comes to it? It's 6 weeks + training camp away. If Martin can play then, heck, he's worth having on the team. If he retires or is put on IR, then there is nothing to worry about.

Man, I hate when this happens....

    Jets | Hartigan waived
    Tue, 15 Aug 2006 09:53:46 -0700

Randy Lange, of the Bergen Record, reports the New York Jets waived RB Nick Hartigan Tuesday, Aug. 15.

I wonder if they made this decision before the Suggs physical, probably wouldn't have mattered though...
