Im pretty pissed that I didnt get the Fresno game on TV. But I think its clear that Carr is legit, and could be the 3rd QB off the board come draft time. Ive seen a lot of his other games and the guy throws absolute darts and could have arm strength on par with Jay Cutler and even Stafford.

It was a great game. The offensive onslaught cooled down in the second half. Fales was flawless. Carr made one mistake, an int. Both these guys look like the real deal. Carr does have a cannon. Fales is more accurate, he made some fantastic throws. and he is one letter off from Foles so of course he's legit.

Mettenberger did not have a good day, and got knocked out of the game.

Mariota looks like that injury is still bothering him. 2 int through one half.

Felt like Fales got better as the game went on - he's a VERY accurate QB. He will make a bad throw but the next snap he will come right back and make a play. But he plays primarily in the shotgun, that is kind of a minus for me.

I see Fales as a potential 2nd round prospect, Carr is going in the first and could be the 3rd QB taken. If we draft a QB, I want Carr. He has a QUICK release, and a STRONG arm that will rip through the Metlife wind. Other then Bridgewater, he would be my 2nd QB to draft.

Just really wish the Jets drafted WRs and TEs this previous draft and waited until this year for the QB, we would be in a much better position future wise.

At this point i hope Geno plays so horribly that we have to pick a QB in the 1st. Sorry i was rooting for him, really rooting for him. Stuck up for him on this board and everything but the amount of QBs available in this draft that have a 1st round grade is remarkable.

Most of the QB's will not have a 1st round grade come draft day.

There are maybe 4 QB's tops in this draft that are going to have that kind of a grade. 3 if Manziel chooses not to come out.

The more I watch these QB's the less I like. Moriotto and Hundley need another year for sure. Bridgewater looks like he ways 175 lbs. Johnny Football is really small and I would defintely be concerned about the hits hecwould take. Carr may be the best but how can you tell with the defenses he plays against. I say build around Geno.

    Some fun football yesterday.

Watched them all, here are my thoughts:

Mettenberger didn't have a massive day but you can see the arm is there. LSU went heavy on the run so his attempts were limited, but still he made some NFL throws. He got crunched on his last play and it looked like his knee (the one that he wears the brace) was badly hyper-extended--thought it was an ACL or something but apparently he'll be back for the bowl game. Big physical guy, but doesn't move particularly well in the face of a rush. Still, stands tall and will throw it with the rush in his face or as getting hit.

Carr and Fales- I'm going to lump these guys in together because it felt like I was watching clones yesterday. Had never seen Carr before and only saw Fales once in limited action.

What an entertaining game- these guys were slinging it all over the field. No screens, no dump offs, no shovel passes, these guys were going bombs away on every throw. The intermediate to deep ball accuracy was phenomenal. Every single throw was on the money, a bullet when a bullet called for it, touch when touch called for it. Carr may have a slightly better arm but Fales was nearly as strong. And both guys had TOTAL command of their offenses and their defensive reads-you could see on replays when a defense was set up both of these guys would make per-snap adjustments and knew exactly where to go with the ball. One play Carr saw the defense wasn't set, he pushed 3 receivers out the the left, quick snapped and threw an easy touchdown into the left flat with no one there and the other 2 receivers for blocking. Brilliant. It was amazing how much confidence each guy showed when they approached the line, it was as if they were playing pitch and catch- they just KNEW where they were going. This wasn't Geno throwing quick hitches to Austin and Bailey, these guys were going downfield every play. 20 yards strikes looked like they were handing the ball off downfield. Carr made one bad read on a touch pass over the middle for an Int, but other than that, both guys were flawless. Oh, and they both move VERY well in the pocket and can run very effectively when a play breaks down.

    Mariota and Manion next.

Why won't they have 1st round grades?? You're not explaining yourself.

You have to understand Bradway is one of the biggest Geno apologists/defenders on the board and he can't stomach even a DISCUSSION of someone supplanting his hero.

He honestly thinks that if Mariota comes out, that no one will draft him in the first round because GMs are going to do the "right thing" and send sophomores a message to stay in school. Thinks he may go as late as the 4th round.

That if Manziel did not exist, no one should have any idea who Mariota is, because no one would be talking about any sophomores- no one would see his talent.

I guess because he's not on TV ever and no analysts are smart enough to look at him, because Manziel was the impetus for anyone to even mention him.

Mariota- was a little hot and cold on him last night. Actually have been a bit underwhelmed the past 2 games, not sure if it's the knee or what-although he looked great running last night and avoiding the rush. He was flushed out a bunch of times and was pretty effective eluding the tacklers. He's a pretty dynamic runner. But he looked almost disinterested in the first half and threw 2 bad picks, one on an under throw into triple coverage. Throws I've not seen him make in any game I've watched him play.

But then in the second half he looked like a different guy. He missed a few but he has great accuracy and the two plays he made to tie and then win the game were great- the first one 4th and goal from the 11 and he threw a PERFECT pass for the TD. The whole last drive he was on the mark on just about every throw- very accurate on the intermediate stuff, although he was throwing a lot of screens and short stuff. The guy is a talent, but for the first time I got the sense he might just stay- looked like he was having a blast at the end of the game and maybe he'll want one more year of the college experience.

Gotta say, Manion looked pretty good last night, had never seen him play before. Nice size, pretty strong arm and like Carr and Fales, looked the part. One bad INT in the redzone but other than that, looked like someone who can play on the next level.

AJ McCarron versus Auburn at 3:30.

Tahj Boyd versus SC at 7:00.

    Manziel versus Mizzou at 7:45.

I'll be watching that BC running back shred my Orangemen at 3:30, bunch of SU and BC alum at the house.

Made an 8 quart pot of chili for it.

To be fair with that Fresno St/SJSU game, neither defense is any good. Gary Nova of Rutgers for example put up 348 yards on 26/41 with 5 TDs/1 INT's(With OT) to start the season. Some have wanted Nova benched this year which kind of puts that into perspective.

San Jose St has given up an average of 35 points all year, including giving up an NCAA record 7 rushing TDs by the Navy option QB Reynolds.

That doesn't mean its either QBs fault but in other words, these defenses leave a lot to be desired and it is expected good QBs/offenses would torch them.

I came away more impressed with Huff and Cooks than I did with the QBs.....I'd love to have either one in round 2 if we go OT/S/OLB/TE in round 1. Especially Huff.

I am SHOCKED you are more impressed with any player other than a QB.

You'd take a punter if it protected your savior.

Lol, we get it, you love Geno. Can you contain your infatuation to the main board and leave the draft forum to objective discussion?

Lol, not impressed with any QB yesterday but you loved when Geno was throwing for 8 TDs against James Madison or Marshall.

Dude, I actually watched the games yesterday and both of them were better than Geno ever was.

Lets make more excuses and devalue everything Carr and Fales did. Because you love Geno.

McCarron is the QB I want, reminds me of Alex Smith, doesn't turn it over and can make the plays when needed.

I am so tired of turnover machines like Sanchez and Geno, I will sign up for a QB like you define in a heartbeat.

I don't watch college football so I will wait JStokes and others chime in about him.
