Said the same thing about Wilson. Only an inch or two shorter than Sanchez and an inch or two shorter than Geno.

Better arm, quicker release and more accurate than Geno and a much better runner. And a total leader.

We have some haters here so they'll continue to dump on him.

AJ is better than I've given him credit for but I still like Murray better. Completely agree with you about Manziel. Lets face it, he belongs on the Jets. Call me crazy, I hope we get him.

Absolutely have to start thinking like this. Geno has had one good game passing this year. That was against the ATL and turns out they have an atrocious defence this year.

You guys think Idzik would have the guts to draft johnny in the first if he is avaliable? I dont think he is that kind of GM tbh

My guess is that Idzik is going to draft the best player available. It is possible that on the 16, 17, 18 that player will be Manziel.

The thing to remember about Johnny Manziel is that he's either going to hit or miss and that's going to be it for him, whichever way he goes. He's a very risky pick but he has a very high ceiling to go along with that.

If he went to a team with an established QB then he'd sit for a year or two until he forced his way into the job. However there isn't a lot of incentive for a team with an established QB to take him because of the high risk factor.

So somebody is going to gulp and pick and their fortunes are either going to improve dramatically or they are going to sink like a rock.

When you think about the pathos of Woody, there is no way he's letting this guy get past him if he's there when we draft.

Favre, hiring Rex, trading up for Sanchez, the WTF signing of Tebow--Woody has to be salivating for a guy like this.

And quite frankly, I'd be pretty excited if we took him.

Picture Johnny Manziel out there with the same kind of patchwork receiving corps we've seen the last few seasons. Picture the offensive line in decline again as D'Brick and Mangold get a year older.

The Jets might be the last place in the NFL that Manziel could go and flourish right away, and if the Jets drafted him he is probably on the field day one.

I think Woody Johnson might be a bit smarter than to sign off on a Manziel pick without having some other things fixed first.

As we've discovered the last few years not all publicity is good or healthy for the team.

So fix all the broken stuff except possibly the most broken position on the field? And hope he gets better because you've fixed the broken stuff around him? He was a second rounder, you catch lightening in a bottle-great--if not, try and grab a TRUE franchise guy.

And I think all that offseason stuff is way way in the rear view mirror, the guy has shown tremendous resiliency this year and toughness on the field, no and has shown he is so much more than a Doug Flutie clone.

And Woody is as smart as a fox--he would LOVE to have Manziel here.

I know what you mean but Manziel is prolly the best QB in the draft when it comes to poor Oline play he has a bit of tony romo in him , improvising the play moving inside and outside the pocket. But again im sure if Watkins or Evans are there Idzik will never go for QB

If Woody doesn't grab him, there is no way Jerry Jones lets him out of the state, Romo's contract be damned. The only bigger media reactionary than Woody is Jones AND Manziel's a home state hero. Romo's not getting any younger and he gets hurt a lot.

If Manziel declares the most likely destination for him is the Texans. They're currently sitting on the 4 or 5 pick. They have no incumbent QB they trust and there's a real chance they make a head coaching change with Kubiak's health issues.

Jerry Jones isn't going to take Johnny Manziel. It would be too much of an admission that his huge contract extension for Romo was an error.

As much as I like Manziel, even I think 4 or 5 is a bit high. But the whole Texas thing might make them reach a bit.

After the Bills game i think i will enter your bandwagon and want a QB on first two rounds doesnt hurt to draft high in such a high impact position and we shouldt put our complete future on Geno Smith the investment wasnt a first round. Im on board draft a QB high if he is there( no Tajh Boyd) but make sure to get weapons and adress the OLB and Safety position.

Here's the dilemma. 2013 was an awful year for QBs and we may have gotten the best of that crop. That's like being the slimmest chick at the fat farm.

2014 is an INCREDIBLE year for QBs- there might be 6 or 7 who are BETTER than anyone who came out in 2013- yeah, BETTER than Geno.

    So do we:

    1. Draft a whole bunch of impact offensive weapons in the hopes that Geno is truly the real deal and can develop into a true franchise guy and SKIP the 6 or 7 potentially better guys?

    2. Pick the best QB still on the board when we pick in round 1 because he is going to be better than Geno, but eschew the other offensive talent that may be sitting there.

    I know what I'd do.

Because it's a QB driven league.

Thing is if we go for it we better not miss this time two Qbs in two years in a row aside from Sanchez and Tebow at some point we gotta hit the homerun i guess

    Agree entirely.

Agree that it's a QB driven league but perhaps there's a middle ground?

Not all 6-7 potentially better guys are going to be taken in round 1. Most likely, we can get one of Murray, McCarron, or Hunley in the 2nd round. If pigs hover just a little bit, maybe even the 3rd. That would enable Idzik to fill a hole with a decent pick or trade it to stockpile, while improving the overall offensive talent. Best of both worlds, yes?

If Manziel is there at our pick, take him. If not, take Murray in the 2nd. Geno may be a decent qb one day but he's not franchise, much more likely that he ends up a career backup. Gotta try to take the best qb you can this next class.

Problem is, only 2 or 3 of those guys might really pan out so you don't know which ones they are.

McCarron is the safest but may not have the highest upside.

Manziel might be the riskiest but might have the highest upside.

Boyd's better than Geno, he's not a bad compromise.

Hell, Murray might be the best of them, who knows.

Assuming we're not in the running for Teddy or Mariota.

I have a serious hard on for Stephen Morris who looks to be playing his way out of the first 2 rounds. I think he would be a great insurance pick in 3rd round or later. I love his feet; they are perfect for the WCO. I think MM and Lee would do wonder for this kid. I'm not a guy that put a lot of stock on arm talent but his just jumps at you on tape. His arm makes Geno's look like Pennington; it's that sick. Glennon gives me hope, Morris may be turn out to be a better pro than collegiate player. Physical stature aside, they have a few things in common: BIG arms, ACC, played in pro-style offenses and did not put up video game numbers.
