not to mention the plethora of weapons in Minnesota, and an actual defense. The defense in 08 would have gotten the Jets to maybe the divisional game. Favre would have had to outscore everyone.
Our D was very talented and pretty good but obviously w/ rex's scheme it was much better. I think we could have won a SB w/ that D if we got the Breet Favre of '09. We had plenty of weapons on O to succeed w/.
The Cardinals offense would have raped that defense. There would have been no pressure on Warner. I don't think the Steelers or Colts lose to that Jets team either.
I'm paraphrasing but there was a quote from a paper or a player that basically said something like an injured Favre is still better than a healthy Kellen Clemens.me. I have to agree with that statement.
I don't think this is the argument the junc is making. This says that the team around Favre in 2008 wasn't as good as the team around Favre in 2009. I think it is unusual for a Hall of Fame player to have such a large up and down, yeah. a) Are you trying to imply that he just wasn't trying with us or is it possible he just answered the question he was asked? b) If this was the case would he not have gotten better as he got more experience? (i.e. better performance at the end of the season compared to the beginning)
We did fine against them at home, I know they scored alot of points when the game was out of hand but we shut them down when the game was being determined. Again IF Favre played like '09(and didn't choke in postseason) we had a good enough D to win it all that year. That doesn't mean we would have but we would have had a chance.
I think he was trying but he did have a new system to master and not much time to do it. I think that was the biggest factor.
Yeah, 35 points were still scored by a Cardinals team that sucked ass on the road, especially on the East Coast. They nearly came back in that game because Mangini's coverages sucked my white ass. The early turnovers helped the Jets win that game. The Cardinal team in the Super Bowl was not the same team as that week.
To be fair that was early in the year and at home and AZ stunk on the road. I do think we could have slowed them down enough to win if our O was scoring but that particualr game wouldn't have meant we would have beat them again.
We got soft w/ the huge lead but we shut them down all 1st half in the brief moments when it was a game. That game was never in doubt.
It's guaranteed that a player plays better as the season goes on? I believe he has struggled the last qtr of seasons for many years now.
Being outdueled by Seneca Wallace adding to the list of impressive QBs who outplayed him in 2008 games: Jamarcus Russell, Tyler Thigpen, Matt Cassell, Shaun Hill,...
What are you talking about? I didn't change the topic, others did but as you know when others come at me I must respond:up:
If Mr. Electric was running our team for the 2009 draft, we would have drafted Sean Smith over Mark Sanchez, and Andre Brown over Shonn Green.
Maybe he wrote that in Feb or March or early April of 2008 and then maybe changed his mind in the days immediately before the draft. I write this because I seem to recall MrElectric wanting the Jets to draft Sanchez. Maybe I am mistaken, though. I always thought this would be the best way to evaluate posters as far as their knowledge of college and NFL players is concerned. Just take the time and research what these posters wrote about players prior to the Jets acquiring them and what not. Edit: If MrElectric wanted the Jets to draft Sean Smith for a while and then changed his mind to Sanchez in the few days preceding the draft, then that would be perfectly fine.
