heres the whole quote Junc, please tell me in what context you would like me to read this. Its pretty cut and dry what he is saying. "Watching the NBA; not that easy for me," Jackson said. "There's very little passing offense that goes on in the NBA anymore. Everything is off the dribble, on a screen roll, through the screen roll, so the innovation is very limited as far as what's going on. I find myself watching hockey playoffs before watching basketball playoff games." "You'd watch the NHL playoffs over the NBA playoff games?" Kremer quizzically asked. "Less commercials, more fun, much more action. Yeah." find me an ex hockey player and coach whos watching NBA playoffs over NHL playoffs these days, please. hahahahaha
he is complaining about the style of basketball that was/is being played. That was more a knock on the NBA for, in his opinion, being boring than a compliment of the NHL. There was a message behind that quote.
of course. thanks for deciphering it for us. So if there was more action off the pass instead of the dribble the second part of his quote would no longer be valid? you know, the part about hockey having more action and being more exciting.
What's going on in this thread is exactly what I'm talking about by the way. Your opinions have been noted. No need to continue posting trying to convince people that don't like hockey that it's the most exciting, it's not like there's some objective truth to be reached here.
Oh come on, junc. You told him to look at the context. He posted it. Now you're interpreting the context. Yeah, Phil Jackson likes to ruffle feathers with his comments, but to say he didn't compliment playoff hockey is simply incorrect.
Dude, what's going on in this thread is what goes on in every thread junc posts in. The whole board may as well be hipsters.
all junc said is that he doesn't really care for hockey and then the hockey cult came out with the pitchforks trying to convert him.
he posted the quote, can we show some common sense here? you think this guy is going to bash his sport for fun? and you will never see hockey people saying the opposite b/c they are not insecure like hockey folks are.
hahah dude, you don't have to argue every point. Phil Jackson is enjoying hockey playoffs more than basketball. simple.
