The Pats offered Ellis $4MM, the Jets offered Ellis the vet minimum.

Pats were able to do that because they were not paying their starting QB $15MM.

Eli reminds me so much of Sanchez at this point in his career I would love to see him win a second superbowl. I just know if Eli can win 2 based on his third year stats Mark can do it.

As far as former Jets winning it I have no issue with any of them. Ellis was offered an insult and the Jets didn't make an offer to McKenzie when he became a Free Agent.

If anything former Jets contributing to the winning a ring is a message that our management need to upgrade their personal evaluation.

you sure about that? I could have sworn brady got a brand new deal a year ago...

Either way the production you got from ellis was horrible for 4 million

    It was.

$4MM is chump-change in the NFL these days.

And like Belichick said last week, Ellis brought a veteran leadership to the locker room that was second to none.

Hehe, the same Ellis that has spent most of his NFL career as the quiet guy in the locker room? The same Ellis that spent most of the Herm regime stoned out of his mind?

I think Belichick meant that Ellis brought valuable information on the Jets' defensive playbook.

BTW, 4mil is not chump change when you're talking about a depth player.

When compared to dolling out $15 MM for a mediocre QB, it sure is.

Why do you need to compare it to anything? The Pats paid $4 million to a depth player. That's it. Mark Sanchez doesn't even factor into the equation.

I mostly agree with this. But I think there might be a short-term mercenary exception. I won't ever identify Jason Taylor with any team other than the Dawlpfinz, but damn my eyes if I didn't also see that bald metrosexual in Jets and Redskins uniforms.

I want to Ellis to get a ring.....Woodhead is a good story....I want to see Weatherford miss a game tying fieldgoal at the end of the game (guy has no class insulting a legend in Westhoff)

Maybe "bother," rather than "annoy," would have been the better choice, then. Watching Ellis celebrate and fulfill his dream in a peijrhgpeouhgre jersey would be awful.

Unless he comes down with another case of fagitis or whatever he had when he played for us, and Feely had to punt as well as kick in the playoffs.

Perhaps he thought the Pats would give him the best chance of getting a ring. In fact, Im sure that had something to do with it. He wasn't wrong either.

Ellis was a great jet i mean he didn't really do nothing wrong. We didn't wanna pay him and he bounced, Yea he went to the pats which well fuck him but for me it's gotta be Weatherford. Fuck that doucher.

amen! more cheating to get first win since spygate. ravens got jobbed.

league will control scoreboard, no mid-season change of field type, no spycam operation, no snowplow operator sweeping the filed for a field goal.

the league wouldn't dare job the giants in favor of kraft.

Weatherford's a piece of shit but I'm rooting against the Pats. I hope Ellis, Dig and Woodhead have the worst games of their careers.
