He has zero int, and 21 tackles in 11 games. He isn't even averaging two tackles a game. His 21 tackles include a few running play tackles. He's had fives games with one or zero tackles. He has 8 deflections in 11 games, on and he's on pace to get 12 deflections. He had 31 last year. Something tells me QBs are not throwing his direction. And rightfully so. Just like Asomugha, Revis probably won't get many opportunities at ints on a regular basis. Its a great sign. Fans won't vote him in to the pro bowl. Coaches and press will. And I think he had his best chance at DPoY last year. I don't see him getting 6-8 ints a season on a regular basis. Asomugha has 3 ints in the last 4 years.
He's just one guy. Our defensive setup works exceptionally well for 90% of the teams in the league who have their traditional #1 guy and #2 not so good guy.... the Pats however are not that type of team, and so we get decimated, and so does everyone else. To beat the Pats we'd need LBers that can cover and safeties as well. That we do not have.
Huh? Revis is only one guy in the team and hes playing his role very well. Now, is this thread about Revis OR the Jets defensive backs as a whole?
Did you just start watching football this year or something? QBs are not throwing to those players because Revis is on him. Those WRs Revis is guarding aren't exactly scrubs either.
Why isn't he on the other team's best receiver for 60 minutes? Why wasn't he covering Marshall at the beginning of the game last week? Who was he on? Benn? If Revis is on Marshall, do the Fins score a TD? That defensive call costs the Jets a game. Why wasn't he on Jennings in the first half of the GB game? He may be having a great year, but he is not always covering the opponents #1 guy like he was last year. If he is getting paid this much money, I don't want to see him covering guys like Benn and Driver all night. What a waste.
You mean Bess? Cromartie can't cover Bess, and he is Henne's 3rd down safety net. In the 2 games you brought up, we allowed a total of 19 points. Defense was fine in those games.
The guy's name is Bess, Benn is a rookie WR for the Bucs I think. Yeah I was kinda puzzled when I saw that Cro would be covering Marshall after he got abused by Marshall in Miami. That bracket coverage is the same coverage they got the game ending interception on in Miami but they botched the execution just like they botched it vs. Atlanta last year.
Or even better.. After the Marshall TD, how many passing yards did Miami WRs get? 33---28 was on 1 play to their TE Marshall had ZERO
