CHFF has us at #1. http://www.coldhardfootballfacts.com/Category/10_Power_Rankings.html 1. NYJ 2. NE 3. PHI 4. GB 5. NYG 6. ATL 7. IND 8. BAL 9. NO 10. PIT
Well, they beat the Steelers who many thought were the best team in football. Unfortunately, we haven't gotten to play them yet.
all that matters is the standings fellas.... #1 team in the AFC. if the playoffs started today, #1 seed
power rankings mean absolute fuck all until the day after week 17. right now, if you go up to your friends and say "hey guys! the jets are ranked 1 in the nfl rankings!" 4 out of 5 will say "what are those and why do you care?" it's not like there's a number next to the team on the scoreboard like college. and the league uses x's and y's when it counts. thanks.
Yes but unforunately they dont start today! We control our own destiny from here on out as long as we keep winnin.
I agree. The Pats defense has definitely improved. Maybe the Jets receivers won't be wide open every time Sanchez rolls out this time. But the Jets aren't slouches either. It should be a good game and could very likely decide the division.
I think that's closest to the truth. It's like saying the Ravens are better then the Jets because they beat the Jets week 1 with a shackled Sanchez. Right now the Pats and Jets are neck and neck imo. Personally I hope all the power rankings put the Jets at #1.
Fox Sports has Jets at 1, CBS Sportsline has us at 2, I'm shocked that ESPN has us at 3. No one should have the pats ahead of the jets, period. The jets beat them head-head, have the better division record, the better conference record, and just defeated the team that blew out the pats only 1 week ago. The logic of some of these analysts is beyond me.
+1 I agree and this is an example of why the power rankings is just something pointless and meaningless to argue about if you bother to get sucked into it.
I love how people who hate rankings come in here to tell us. Really, you hate power rankings?? No shit Einstein I never could have guessed! It's just for kicks, nobody's going to die if rankings don't jive with your world view
You know...here's an interesting Conundrum... We may go undefeated on the Road this year, at worst we'll be better OTR than at Home over 16 games. And...We're hoping for HFA throughout....
Playoffs are another story - have you heard how loud the stadium gets during the PO's? Believe me we want to be home, especially if we are matched up with Peyton Manning.
Logic beyond you? No kidding. Never saw that coming. LOL:rofl: After the Patriots beat the Ravens, Jamie Dukes still had the Ravens ahead of the Patriots because his criteria was based on two teams playing on a neutral site. It's his way of analyzing and a legitimate way to look at things. Power rankings are interesting because different people review teams in a different manner and can provide a different angle. Also, since it pretty much guaranteed, the author is smarter than you; and educational moment is provided. Read the comments not the rankings.
