WSW...remind me again....our two losses came by a total of what? 10 pts combined? Yes...we've struggled. RMFE... A Flag happy crew gives Baltimore a 4 point mulligan after a FG, and Mark misses a couple open guys in a 6-0 game. Wheres NE got blown out in Cleveland.
If we can squeak out the next two and Manning doesn't fold like a cheap tent this week how F*ng priceless will that be, when Buck Frady goes out for the presser.
ESPN is up- Atlanta 1 as I expected, Pats 2, no shocker, and Jets 3. 1 (3) Falcons 7-2 Confident, rested Falcons must guard against letdown when visiting improved Rams. (Sando) 2 (6) Patriots 7-2 The Patriots went 3-1 against the AFC North, with just the one bad day against Eric Mangini. (Clayton) 3 (5) Jets 7-2 Rex Ryan had to go overtime against Eric Mangini, but at least the Jets pulled out the win. (Clayton) 4 (1) Ravens 6-3 There's no shame in a last-second loss to Atlanta at the Georgia Dome. (Walker) 5 (2) Steelers 6-3 Steelers are just 1-2 in their last three games. (Walker) 6 (8) Eagles 6-3 Michael Vick is the Eagles' new franchise quarterback and now is awaiting a big payday. (Clayton) 7 (7) Packers 6-3 The well-rested Packers have a chance to beat Brett Favre one more time. (Walker) 8 (4) Giants 6-3 Lost in the dark against the Cowboys in Week 10, the Giants now have to prepare for the electric Michael Vick. (Clayton) 9 (9) Saints 6-3 Week 11 brings together Reggie Bush and Pete Carroll, minus NCAA investigators. (Sando) 10 (10) Colts 6-3 How many injured guys can make it back for the showdown at New England? (Kuharsky) http://espn.go.com/nfl/powerrankings
Why do you give a rat's ass what the Jets "ranking" is. The only "ranking" that matters is if they win the SB.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Agreed. Historically have spent too many years near the bottom. It's cool to see us spoken about as one of the best teams.
The bolded part is absolutely correct, and the Jets have been miserable in accomplishing that goal on other QBs this year.
Atlanta's getting the top spot in a lot of power rankings, but I don't think they have the depth that the other elite teams have. Their defense is so-so and their offense is kind of one-dimensional (handoff to Turner or pass to Roddy).
It may be best for Rex if he can pull the "no respect" card a bit longer. The Pats will always be ranked higher than they deserve, and the Jets will always have to jump through hoops to get any credit. Besides, ESPN is not exactly known for being kind to the Jets.
The thing is, all you hear about is how great Brady is under pressure. The evidence strongly suggests otherwise. Rush him, and he panics. It's when you sit back in coverage that he gets comfortable in the pocket and picks you apart. But saying that he's not great against pressure doesn't fit the legend of Brady. It's easier to lie than it is to actually objectively analyze his performance.
The way we've played I CAN"T see them ranking us #1, we have won, but not in any way shape or form of domination. The Falcons will be #1, Pats #2, Jets maybe #3...some people still think the Ravens, Steelers & Packers are better than us so we can be anywhere from #'s 3-6. ps I don't really care where they rank us I just want to win, win every game from here on out & we'll be champs, then EVERYONE will know who's #1.:jets:
The Pats have won more often more convincingly than the Jets, and lost more often more convincingly than the Jets. How is that weighed? Does that even out? The Jets were in both losses into the two-minute warning. Tough to say that for either Pats loss.
CBS Sports out with their Week 11 Rankings: http://www.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/17443262/25880304 1. Patriots 2. Falcons 3. Jets 4. Eagles 5. Colts _________________

I just don't see how you can rank the Patriots #1 or even worse, ahead of the Jets. They are both 7-2, the Jets BEAT the Patriots, the Patriots were BLOWN OUT by the Browns, then the Jets beat the Browns. Make much sense?
the bottom line is when the nfl ranks teams for the playoffs and for the division the first tiebreaker is head to head. So the Jets beat the Pats so they should be ahead of them. Beating a team in week 11 counts as much as beating them in week 2. Everyone thinks head to head is the best tiebreaker so why don't they actually use it when they make these rankings?
