well, i'll agree with that..we have already lost just about everything. after a few more games we will just be playing out the string anyway.
cmon man, its a long season, anything can happen, u gatta hope for the best, please dont crucify me for this, but....WE CAN STILL MAKE THE PLAYOFFS, top afc teams not named the pats or colts are underachieving, if we can get hot, patch some holes and get a lil bit of luck, we can make the playoffs, just like the ny lotto, "hey it could happen"
Hey..no doubt. In fact we are only one game behind a 8 way tie for the wild card. Stranger things have happened and if we get a few wins everybody's outlook will change. If we don't..well then I'm just predicting what the rest of the season will be like.
I heard that the defense is now putting 15 people in the box, and then hanging back another 8 deep to protect against the pass. That is why Penny never throws deep and never uses the play action pass.
I think all Defenses cover certain Teams at certain time that way but for god sakes take a shot . Thats the problem the "rainbow connection" will be cut off by a DB who can basically balance his check book and still come up with a pick.
yeah, the other team uses their Cheerleaders to gaurd against Chad's long ball. They line up 15 yards deep and just knock the ball down. It's pretty cool to watch.
We've been doing it all season. It's just that Chad hides it SO well, the cameras don't even pick it up.
You run the ball anyways, then use the play action. If you abondon the run, all the play action does is allow pass rushers to get closer tothe QB before he passes it. Whether you're gaining 6 yards per carry or 2.5 yards per carry, the PA pass can still be effective.....
somehow, someway the Jets need to run the Playaction with Pennington behind center....thats his bread and butter, its not rocket science!
Chad can no longer effectively use his best weapon because teams do not fear being beat long by him and take the running game completely away. With the box already stuffed, play action does not have any effect on the safeties and the CBs know that they won't get burned in man close coverage. It is really a vicious cycle and one that can only be solved by changing QB. That change will be long long overdue by the time it comes, unfortunately seeing as the team seemed to be impressed with Chad's performance on Sunday which is mind-boggling.
In order to run the play action pass, you need to run your running back. We like to run our second stringer more than our first string running back, you know, the guy we traded for and gave a pretty nice deal that only gets 12 touches. Hard to be a bruising wear down a defense type back when your on the bench. He's supposed to touch the ball 20 - 25 times a game and Leon should 9-12 touches on offense and the rest via special teams. But it seems that our offense has decided to become way to CUTE, pointing at people, changing formations, then some more pointing at people, then maybe some motion. Jesus Christ... we obviously are not fooling anyone. How about we get up to the ball, and run the ball on first down, run some play action or run the ball again on second down, and TRY to leave ourselves with a managable 3rd down conversion. NOVEL FRIGGIN CONCEPT??? I think not... it's football friggin 101. We waste more time pointing at people that we don't block anyway it's friggin rediculous. I've had enough. Shotty... time to abandon the debacle of an offense your trying to run. How about giving your workhorse the f#$%in ball. Let's play football not point at the guy. Get up to the ball and run the friggin play. All this pointing and motion is doing is causing penalties that we don't have the offense to overcome. And what kind of shitty 2 minute offense was that yesterday... it's pathetic. My junior football team runs a better 2 minute offense. The Defense.. uggh... I'll leave that for another Odjeda filled wekend of Jets football. ellis
Your logic makes sense, but he hardly ever threw deep when Hackett was the OC and the play action worked like a charm.
