Theres no doubt that will happen but I'm sure he knows he will have to prove himself. Thats the price you pay when you have the best CB playing on the opposite side lol.
I think he'll be good to go as a starter next season. He just needed one year to prepare. He can learn a lot from Revis.

Revis had the same struggles when he was moved around. Mangini put him all over the field as a rookie and it payed off big time. KDub hasn't gotten the exact same treatment, though. Revis was the best corner on the team and there was no way he was coming off the field.

KDub getting moved to nickel was tantamount to having to learn a new position with the sidelines being taken away from him. Having guys like Coleman and Cole behind him with more experience in Rex's system also set him back since he was struggling with shit they already knew. At that point, he was replaceable until he learned.

I would have liked to see Wilson play a little better at nickel and earn some more playing time being a #1 pick but then again not too many #1 picks are coming into a situation where they are automatically the third best player at their position on the team. McCourty and Haden had the benefit of extra reps on the playing field where any player will tell you they'll get the best opportunity to learn. KDub got set back a bit but his performance in Buffalo was certainly encouraging and his breakup in Pittsburgh(yes, the facemask play) shows he's learning to read and play inside, too.
At this point, I think that's the best option for dealing with Cro. I want to see KDub take over at #2 and I really don't think that Cro has the right mentality to play in Rex's defense. He was good for us this season but I'm not really harboring any particular attachment to him.

For the money he's likely to ask for, I think tag and trade to get a 3rd or maybe recoup a 2nd(long shot) is the best value he brings to this team. Another 2nd or 3rd rounder will probably get us the players we need to impact the front seven. At that point, we can find another CB to rotate in at nickel in the 4th or 5th rounds. Our scouts are good enough.

I won't be pissed if Cro comes back for a contract that isn't prohibitive, he's got speed and he's got talent. However, I'm fully confident KDub will be able to step in.
