I heard that he and Ricky Williams are going to live with the Dali Lama for a year. Oh yeah, unless his head actually fell off his body he could not be any more stupid...good luck "finding yourself" Cedric maybe you can make nearly $500k a year doing something else at 24 years old. When these kids make decisions like that they need someone to slap the crap out of them. Tough out one more year idiot get your money and then go chase your dreams with some cash in your pocket.
I dont mean to poke fun at Houston, but the comment "Sick and tired of being sick and tired" was a classic.
I really don't think that's the case. When the reports first came out, they said he left camp for family reasons. Normally that means someone in the family is very sick. My gut feeling tells me that he didn't leave football just to leave football. I think something happened to either him or a family member and that's why he left. Choosing family's health over a game is an obvious decision for me which is why i hold out my judgement and still have much respect for Ceddy.
It's very arrogant to suggest that Cedric Houston is only worth your respect if he plays football for the Jets.
He's obviously sitting on South Beach sipping Madd Huricanes waiting for training camp to end so he can get back here and play some ball.
How can you talk about something you don't know. Maybe his thyroid problem came up and he couldn't deal with it anymore and couldn't play football. Maybe someone in his family was having health problems and he had to stay home and take care of them.
The responses in this thread are kind of sad... He realized that he had his chance to be a starter last year, wasn't good enough, and probably decided that he'd rather do something else with his life rather than be subjected to grueling training camps every year and never being able to play. He had a thyroid problem, maybe that has something to do with it. It's most likely that football just wasn't that important to him, and if he wasn't going to play, he might as well leave while he's still healthy and young enough to seek a career in something else. Not everyone who plays in the NFL loves the sport.
