You think Rodgers is going to want to stick around this shitshow?!? Dude's been getting mauled for the most part, and the team is a bunch of slapdicks. Barring a RADICAL turnaround I'll guess he hangs up the cleats at the end of the season
Here's where we go. Woodrow Johnson gets on his Richie Rich plane and heads to see: 1.) Pete Carroll - Instant franchise changer 2.) Bruce Arians - Excellent offensive mind whose done it at several stops
yeah Bruce Arians is not coming out of semi-retirement in florida to coach the Jets in this mess. And Carroll is too old and too west coast these days as well lets get real with these names.
Under a diff ownership I would say, blow it up - but holy shit, this buffoon and his dildo brother have completely fucked this organization. One shitbag hire after another, and here we are. Fucking no-man's land - aged out QB, terrible O and D lines, with a few salvageable pieces means no credible person is going to come here. The guys who can pick their jobs only go where there is a QB worth staking their career on, it ain't here...
Even with a radical turnaround, there’s no chance Rodgers returns. He’s old and it’s showing. By the end of every game he looks like a man who’s been beaten up by George Foreman. There is zero chance he’s putting himself through this again, he practically retired 2 years ago. Since then he’s torn his achilles and taken a massive beating every game since he’s returned. Honestly the only reason he’s here this year is because he didn’t take a season long beating last year. Had this current season transpired last year he’d have retired.
I don't disagree... would've been nice to have a halfway decent O-line to keep him upright, instead of old dudes who were good 10 years ago, and bandaids for draft pick busts...
So is another legend named Rick Pitino and he's quickly rebuilt a team that's now on the cusp of the Preseason top 25 at another longtime moribund NY program in St. John's basketball before he arrived last season. Carroll would instantly turn around this franchise. 73 is not what it used to be especially when you keep in the shape and have the energy he does. And whoever mentioned Bill Parcells is a horrible comparison. He looks and acts like an old man in every way and is a decade older than Carroll and has been out of the game forever now. Not even close to similar. Carroll is the antithesis and wants more run at the big-time. Typical Jets brass/Jets fans ignorance if they pass on this guy. I've made my opinion known and he's the best option by far. They won't get him though. The Jets are small-time franchise in every way.
Besides the fact that Parcells looks and moves like he could be Carroll's old age home father, is a decade older which is huge difference and hasn't been involved with the NFL in nearly a generation, you may be onto something. Horrible comparison.
Saint John's University college basketball, NY Jets NFL team. Tomato, tomahto. Even if the comparison wasn't terrible, Patino joined that team a year or two ago. It's not the same. Carroll and Arians would both be older when they started fixing a disaster.
Yeah, no. Either you don't know or you're just making sh*t up. St. John's is good this year after a 20 win season a year ago.
I think the point is that they are very different and not comparable. Nobody is saying St. John's is bad. College sports is less of a commitment. Older guys can still do well Pitino can send his assistants on most recruiting visits, show up for the final "pitch", he can golf all summer and show up for the season running the same base plays he's ran since the 1990s NFL football, and rebuilding the Jets is not like that. Its a much bigger commitment and the Jets can't be fixed with one big recruit anyway
They are extremely comparable. St. John's was HORRIBLE for 20+ years before Slick Rick came to town. College hoops is a business just as much as the NFL is. St. John's was doormat for a generation before Pitino came to town.
