Definitely not his best career game. The shootout in Green Bay his rookie year comes to mind. I’m not even disputing what you said or where you rank him but he did play better than the line looks. He also looked pretty comfortable.
Yes he played outstanding 3 games in a row....at Buffalo, Houston and GB at home where he really looked like the one we were all waiting for......he even showed more flashes in '19 after he came back from mono. That Dallas game stands out. After that was when the Gase effect .....well took effect...
He had one good game. I've seen more than enough Sam Darnold in my lifetime to know that Sam Darnold is not going to suddenly be a good NFL quarterback.
Fair enough, and I don’t want to come off like I’m bashing the guy. I actually really like him and think it was terrible how we handled him. I was livid when they traded him and drafted ZW. Being honest I just don’t think Sam’s ceiling is very high, but I hope he proves me wrong.
Hahaha this is hilarious! Now I can't not picture Zack on Sesame street and the kids pointing at him yelling "This one doesn't belong!!"
I noticed on many occasions that before the snap, Becton was twisting round to look at the QB, then he would turn back to face front just before the ball was snapped. I thought it looked awkward and often led to him looking unbalanced at the snap because he wasn't fully settled. I also thought it could be something a defense could exploit... while his back is turned they could move a player in or out so when he turns back around he doesn't know what's going on. Just a thought, but it looked weird. He does look effective when he is able to engage with a guy, but he is awkward and clumsy-looking if he has to move in space. I also thought Huff was invisible.
They should of given him a shot with the new regime in ‘21. Dealt the #2 pick for a bonanza to build around him. If he didn’t show any positive signs in ‘21 then you make a move for another QB in ‘22. They would of had plenty of ammunition for a move up or a trade. But hindsight is always 20/20….
Thats very fair. And his next opponent is SF. Like I said previously though while he most likely will never be an all pro he can turn into a decent QB.
