Obviously you have to do something on the field before you can be an effective decoy, but Smith has made plays when given the chance. He creates a tremendous X-factor in every game we play.

I'd like to see him a little more at receiver...Although with JMac not dropping balls like usual, i'm ok with him in the slot...But when it gets to multiple receiver sets, i'd like to see Smith in rather than Dwight.

I said there (IMO) is a strong possibility that he may be gone next season. I think we will draft a WR by Rnd 4 and that could spell his end. Hes not an NFL calibre RB or QB , so that leaves WR and/or ST. If McCareins and Dwight gets to stay next season , he will be gone .

I doubt it. You can't get caught up in positions with a guy like Smith, because he can do so many things from one roster spot. His ability on special teams alone would keep a lot of guys on the team, throw in the fact that he can spot in at WR or even as an emergency QB, he justifies his spot in a lot of ways. Plus, as we mentioned, he creates a lot of headaches for opposing coaching staffs. Another 4th WR would have a lot less impact on the team as a whole.

Then that might be how he keeps his job with us, STs. His ability to play other positions other than WR don't look good enough to me yet.

I'm just not into Randle El type of players.
