I'm rooting for the pats to win *hopes my string of picking the wrong team works with that pats/ravens game* So go pats
Brady will be the GOAT if he wins another ring...kills me to say it and the Giants being the only team capable of stopping him makes it worse... The Niners & Ravens have a chance especially the Niners but I won’t bet on either team...this Pats team is too loaded on offense unless they knock Brady out neither team has a realistic shot because they don’t have a high scoring offense...
He did make 5 FGs vs. Indy in 2003 but they also scored a TD, in 2006 w/ Indy he kicked 5 FGs to score all 15 of their pts at Baltimore. AV was very important but more important than him was the QB setting up the K. If that wasn't the case he would have more championships w/o Brady. he's playedd 11 years w/o Brady and has 1 championshio, in 5 years w/ him he had 3.
Vinateri missed 2 field goals in the Carolina super bowl game...In each of the Super Bowls, Brady had converted on a long 3rd down play under a minute to position the team to win...I know its hard to put the asshole up there with Montana, but it is tough to deny him the top spot in large part to his overall record, stats, etc...
I'm a history geek so I know where you're coming from. It's just impossible to compare guys from different eras. Athletes are stronger and faster, and despite the rule changes favoring offense, guys like Luckman and Baugh didn't throw into secondary units that had four starters with minimum 4.4 speed. So there are factors to consider on both sides of that argument. Your jabs are always easy to take because they're freaking hilarious. I have to give you tons of credit for originality and creativity. That always gets forgotten when opposing fans try to discredit TB by propping up AV. One he missed clean, and another was blocked because he essentially kicked it right into the line. No doubt Vinatieri was huge for the Pats back in those days, but the Snow Bowl kick was the only one that rated as an against-the-odds, low-percentage type of kick. The others were kicks that any decent kicker should make.
Again I never said he was more important than Brady or that he was the sole reason, that is you putting words in my mouth. I was just arguing that the first Super Bowl run and win was a complete team effort, not Brady putting the team on his back like he has done the past couple years. That does not take away anything from Brady. The only negative you can shine on Brady's career is that he lost one Super Bowl while Joe never lost in any or threw an interception in any. I don't know enough about history of the nfl, but from my understanding many people have Brady top 10 right now and this would make him top 5. Also just realized maybe the OP was trying to reverse jinx the Pats. Good effort, hope it works :breakdance:
the difference ion SB wins is Montana got the last possession(the last real one) of SB XXIII and they beat the Benagls, Brady gave NE the lead late but didn't get the last real possession so they lost that game. I think most have Brady top 5. My top coming into this season would be: 1. Montana 2. Unitas 3. Graham 4. Brady 5. Marino
Get it done Giants. *puke* I'd love to see Coughlin beat Belicheat again. He won't sleep for an entire month.
I swear I made this thread to see Brady's world fall apart on top of him in the playoffs...It got way too close. Joe Cool is the greatest of all time, nuff said now.
You were crossing a dangerous line reverse jinxing Brady, but it worked. Kudos for successfully pulling it off. :metal:
Brady will never crack the top 10. He might squeak into the top 20 if he can win a Superbowl without cheating or getting bailed out by his kicker. Easily better than Brady ever will be: Otto Graham Joe Montana Steve Young Johnny Unitas John Elway Sammy Baugh Terry Bradshaw Sid Luckman Roger Staubach Brett Favre Fran Tarkenton Bart Starr Dan Marino Peyton Manning Eli Manning
