I cannot believe that some people still think favre is the Jets best option for 09'. This truely is a sign that the world will be ending soon. I started hating him when he threw that int to merriweather in wk2 against the pats. Thats when I knew it would be a long season.
Agreed. I don't hate any Jets Player. Even TJ. They are my team and I root for them unless the do something really stupid like shoot themselves in the leg because they are clueless as to how to safely handle a firearm.
Once he started sucking. Didn't love him before that, but he fell to shit after a while. And it's sounding more like he's the reason we fired a good coach. This whole fucking situation is just...Jets.
None of the above but if I had to pick one it'd be the middle choice. The irony is Favre was my favorite non-Jet before this offseason, then he was a douche to the Packers and I didn't like him as much after that. Then he comes here with all the stupid hype and boots my favorite Jet out the door in the process, so that was two strikes. He had a ridiculously up and down season - mostly down but it took till the last month of the season to give up hope of seeing him be the Favre of old with any consistency.
Cold Weather Games... Well, I just couldn't get his performance at the NFC championship game against the GINTs out of my mind when he was foisted on the Jets by the Packers if he wanted to come back and play again. That cold rainy day in the Meadowlands freaked me out -- Favre looked like he didn't like the rain (and later said so), and it looked as if the rest of the NYJs were taking their cue from him, cause they all looked awful. What was so gauling was that those no-account Denver putzes looked like they were having the time of their lives out back in the Mud Bowl. You can understand why that could get on your nerves, as a long time Jets fan and A.J. Duhe hater.
I hated him before we got him. I live in Patriots land and my co-workers were asking me about Favre coming to the Jets. I answered a waste. their response "why?" I put a pen and paper in my hand and ranked the QB's 1-32 I had Favre 21st Pennington 24th. Favre was great in the 1990's early 2000's but not anymore. They laughed at me, some had him top 5. then after the oakland game I said "See I told you he sucked" they were like damm your right Pennington might be better Its time to move on we cant get any worse at the QB position. This is Woody's fault at his weak attempt to sell PSL's and have a big name player for the new stadium and be the spokesman of the Jets I dont need to go over the stats or some bad decisions coaching and favre, he has to go, I think half the team dislikes him as well.
Favre was always my favorite player even when on the Packers because of his enthusiasm for the game and the fun he has playing it. I wanted him to be able to retire a Packer and then the Packers take him back and have him as their starter instead of treating him the way they did. When I first heard he could go to the Jets, I thought he'd be a good QB for us but was pretty indifferent for the most part about it. But once the rumors started increasing and I saw we acquired him, I couldn't have been happier for about a week. I went to training camp just to see him and get one of the Favre shirts. He had a good beginning for us with his TD drive against the Redskins in the pre-season and the bomb TD to Cotchery in week 1, but after that I thought we could do better with him. Once we won 5 in a row though, I really thought we had a championship caliber team on our hands because of Favre. The Denver game was frustrating but I thought we were due for a loss and Denver gets good at any random time. The loss to San Fran was a point where I started turning on him, and the Seattle game was the last straw. I still really like him for who he is and the positives of this season but I'm not sure at all if he could go another season, and I wouldn't expect him to return because the game can't be that fun for him anymore.
