I'm not the league. That's my opinion.

And the "league" passed on Geno at least once and some others including us twice.

Last year I never thought we would never be drafting Dee Milliner at #9, I expected him to be at worst to be drafted at #6. Mingo going that early made Milliner fall to us.

It's clear Idzik is going to take the BPA. He will follow his board and take the highest ranked player. The issue being, I don't see Cooks or Beckham as BPA at #18 in Idzik's mind.

I have to agree here. It seems Idzik's approach is BPA until we have the roster to pick and choose.

I do think, however, that Cooks may be the guy at 18. MM was apparently raving about him after going to his pro day. I'm sure Idzik is taking the offensive coordinator's word when it comes to a potential pick at WR.

Now, if a guy like Barr is there, you can't chose Cooks over Barr, even if we have a huge need at WR. It's really going to be interesting to see who will be there. With Manziel and Bortles looking to be drafted, it could really push down some awesome talent at our spot.

You said that in the Jets mind, they would be getting a sure-fire franchise guy. I highly doubt that any QB who falls past the first half of any draft class is considered a sure-fire franchise QB even if the team feels they are getting incredible value.

Either way, I highly doubt he's there. If he is, it may be for reasons that are above my knowledge.

I think it would have more to do with Manziel, Bortles, and Carr's stock rising and Teddy's falling due to all the usual offseason b.s. Really, you could order those four any which way right now but at least one will be on the board when we pick.

Probably a good thing for both of us that he'll be gone long before #18.

In my mind if I were the Jets mind the Jets would be getting a sure-fire franchise guy.

This is not real life, we're just fans making guesses.

NOBODY knows anything for real. Not me saying there are 7 QBs better than anyone drafted last year and not anyone saying all these QBs suck and don't match up to last years drafts.

    We're all just amateurs. Guessing.

Anyone who thinks else wise is either a fool or delusional.

The more I think about it, I'm almost sure we will trade back from #18. Hopefully to later in the first round, we can still get a top wide receiver and then pick up an extra pick to snag a LB, TE, or OL. The talent is smack dab in the middle of this draft pool. If we don't, I would probably draft Beckham, Cooks, Mosley, Dennard, Gilbert, Zack Martin, or Barr if some of them fall. Going BPA will make our team better overall and in the long run obviously.

I think the niners would be a very good team to trade our 18 since they got a ton of picks to offer us

Definitely. They don't necessarily have room for 11 draft picks on their roster either.

Ugh...what is it with this team and 1st round TEs?!?! Kyle Brady, Johnny Mitchell, Anthony Becht....when has taking a TE in the 1st round EVER been a good move? Never....you can get good TEs almost anywhere in the draft. The only positions that would make sense for the Jets at #18 this year are CB, WR, or S.

I'd have feelings that are not appropriate when watching football if we could get Clinton-Dix, he and Milliner had great chemistry at Alabama in 2012. Mr. Haha would be a HOF safety under RR, and that genuinely means something to me because I've never claimed that about any player before he was drafted before.

Vernon Davis says hi. While I generally agree with your point on most TEs in Rd 1 are usually a bad move. Davis is an exception, and I believe Ebron will be one too!

The only player taken at #18 should be the BPA, that's what Idzik will do, he proved that last year. Limiting yourself to having to draft a "WR, CB or S" at #18 is not a wise move, unless one of those players is the BPA.

Why is New England bringing in Teddy Bridgewater and Johnny Manziel for visits? Honestly.

New England has the 29th pick in the first round. Neither is falling to 29, but let's say one does. Why the hell would New England take a QB in the first round, even if Brady is reaching the end of his career?

    I dont get this one

I heard about this too. I don't read too much into it tho. I don't think NE is drafting a QB in the 1st round, if anything they need more weapons for the "Golden boy" to compete with Denver...whom I've been hearing everyone is predicting they'll meet up again with in the playoffs. Personally I don't think Manziel or Bridgewater is going to make it past pick 10 with all the teams that need a QB up there. NE would have to give everything away including the hotdog stand guy to jump up and grab either one of these guys.

Yes, and don't forget Dustin Keller was our best receiver in 2009-2011. It's not his fault he got hurt in 2012.

I don't think Ebron is in the vernon davis mold. He might be a Jason Witten (no slouch) but not a game changer. Not sure that's worth a first rounder.

Ebron may not be the physical specimen Davis is, but he's not too far behind. For a Guy his size Ebron is very gifted player. He's the best TE coming into the NFL since Davis. The comparison of Ebron to Witten as far as a phyical stand point is way off. Ebron is light years ahead of Witten phyically.

Ebron's only true weakness is his lack of focus at times, it will be a concern for some GMs.

I still expect Ebron to be drafted anywhere from #9 to 15. Buffalo, NYG or Pittsburgh would be the most likely targets.

They also visited with Bortles who it seems like is more and more going top 2 or 3.

    Just doing their due diligence.
