He was a massive bust, but he is fast. Speed can't be taught, there were some reasons why he was a first round pick.

Probably won't amount to much, but it shows that Mangini isn't worried as much about background anymore...

Sign him to an incentive laden contract, so if he continues to be a knucklehead they can send him packing without consequence.

Whats the diff between this guy and Justin Miller?

At this point, it doesn;t matter who we have at CB, we can't get to the QB anyways....

Not to familiar with this guy but as long as it is low risk to us and we do not offer him a huge contract, I'm for it. Though we tried doing this with Wadsworth and that didn't turn out great.

In 34 games played with the Green Bay Packers he had a total of 33 penalty flags thrown against him

    Exactly.

If we do sign him to anything, then its time for Mangini to show some of his "specialty" since he was a secondary coach before he became a D coordinator.

"Mangini might be able to turn him into a solid player" ha.. thats what i heard all offseason. We got Wadsworth, this COULD BE A STEAL! He's gonna be a player. Blah blah. Maybe it'll work, maybe not. But i'm not counting on the brilliant Mangini turning anyone into a star.

I don't understand these Carroll to Wadsworth comparisons. One guy is 24 - the other is 33 and has had multiple knee surgeries.

In every thread created in the Jets forum someone says something like this and it drives me absolutely crazy.

Where is the proof of this? When has anyone in the Jets organization ever said that they will not go after guys with character issues? How do we know that TO, Moss, and Tank were ever available to the Jets in the first place? You guys all act like it's a free market for every player and it's just not that way. A lot of times a player will target a few select teams for whatever reason and only let them go after him. Either way, maybe the Jets didn't go after those guys for other reasons besides character like skill level or salary reasons. Doesn't mean they were right but maybe that's why.

My point is, until someone in Jets management says that they will only go after good-character guys, can everyone please shut up about all this "Mangini Guy" bullshit?

This guy sounds like a Damien Robinson clone. We could package him in a deal with KC.

Wasn't Abram Elam accused of raping a girl?

I think the notion that Mangini only wants choir boys is long gone.
