I have no idea if they have anything left in the tank, but Vonnie Holliday and Kevin Carter are both free agents and have experience in a 3-4 defense.

They've been trying him at TE, but may need to rethink that now.
Brown actually looked decent at DE last preseason..

That might not be such a bad idea. Maybe that's why Rex say's he expects big things from VG this season.

Marques Douglas was brought in to start for Rex he's a better fit in Rex's 3-4 then Kenyon was. Thats why we sent him back to his coach.

LOL. do you think people are really looking for LT here?

A couple sacks, some tackles, SOMETHING would help. He was a high pick and showed nothing. He has to show something this year or it could be a short career. What is wrong with expecting such a high pick to produce, even just a little

I don't understand how gholston could play 3-4 end. He's too small and won't be able to take on two blockers. He can't even take on one....

    Fixed for accuracy

Gholston is a much better 43 DE than Thomas ever was

Check the BS forum. It's the latest TGG-specific meme.

Yes we will be running a traditional 3-4, a NT and two DE. And those DE's will not be BT or Calvin Pace. Calvin Pace was a DE, and wasn't very good, thats why hes now a LB.

As for VG, he wont be playing with his hands down, he'll be molded into a T. Suggs type player. How often did you see Suggs with his hands down?
Rex said it himself, you guys are missing the whole picture.

Gholston played DE at Ohio albeit in a 4-3. 3-4 DE is a more natural fit for a 4-3 DE than 3-4 OLB. Gholston is 6'4, only an inch shorter than Ellis and Coleman who are both 6'5 so he definitely has a frame that could support another 15-20 lbs which would put him at the same weight as Ellis. If we end up lining up at 4-3 at times, which you know we will with Rex, Gholston is more than a workable option at DE.

I think with a versatile coach like R. Ryan we will be running both 3-4 and 4-3 schemes:

    3-4: Douglas-Jenkins-Ellis and Pace-Scott-Harris-Thomas/Gholston

    4-3: Pace-DeVito/Douglas-Jenkins-Gholston and Scott-Harris-Thomas

I think both front 7 look good, at least on paper...

people sure are doing a great job convincing themselves that guys who have never showed anything will end up being decent to great players.

    devito, seriously....

stop thinking about what you WISH will happen and more about what you really deep down in your heart think will happen. be honest with yourselves please.
