My ex Marine brother in law has built a bunch of smokers with petroleum barrels.
And in about 6 months, that Montana boy has become one of the best Texas barbeque smokers I've ever seen. I have been thoroughly impressed. He's doing a 20lb briskit tomorrow, in addition to ribs and a pork loin. Fucking dude is a machine.

And with that, I'm going to wish you fellas a happy New Year 2017. For some inane reason, I am honoring a bet with a poster that I'm sure is a duplicate account from one of those shitheels that tried to subvert the forum 5 years ago.

But since the current mod crew is a combination of lax and also members of that other forum where this dipshit posts, it's not even worth debating.

Peace. I hope the next time I talk to you guys, it's when the Jets are trying for a repeat.

    Don't be a quitter.

Stick around, it's just the Internet.

I agree, can't be losing another of the old timers for that long. You're a lawyer, do something.

Actually I was just reading the bet, he said he would take a year off but the terms of when that year started were never mentioned. I think the start of the year off should be Aug. 3, 2032, Simon Phoenix is going to be out and about so best to be hunkered down then anyway.

Got it. I thought you made two. I didn't even get one with my prime rib at a family member's house but there was at least some horseradish cream in the area. For some reason, she had the butcher take it off the bone??? And the two sisters (not nuns)in charge debated whether to cook at even temp, start hot finish low and slow, or cook low and slow and finish hot.

I think they compromised (?!?) and did a bit if each! But it survived and was worth eating - I only wish I didn't know what they did to the poor animal. And really, how hard is it to get meat, potatoes and a couple of vegetables out while they're still hot? I think it's a plot to get me to do all the work myself again.

Some people do that but I kept the bone in then sliced it later.

Yeah, no good reason for it - didn't even keep the bones for stock.

The guy that does The Feast of the Seven Fishes every year grows his own horseradish and every year he promises to give me some to grow (it grows like weeds) and every year he forgets.

Just got a package from him on Thursday with 2 root balls of horseradish--going to plant it today.

I've actually never cooked crab other than steaming King Crab Legs. I want to make sautéed soft shell crabs one day, just haven't gotten up the nerve.

I cook a ton of different shrimp dishes tho.

Ive been doing the cookin for a few years now. My hobby. You should get into it if you have the time. You could do it. Hey impress that girl of yours! Woman just double take when you tell them you can cook lol.Nothing more satisfying than putting together a great meal then consuming it.

Btw, my deal is, no one touches anything in the kitchen unless I tell them to, and I cook but everyone else does the cleanup.

It's working out pretty damn good.
