Yeah, Ellis is a stud. What are year he had last year. Many of you have overrated him for years. He's a decent NFL DE who's way overpaid. He will be nothing without Abraham.

He was awful last year because he was incredibly out of shape. Every single year he's been at his normal playing weight, he has been tremendous.

By the way, what makes you think he'll be nothing without Abraham?

Ellis with Abraham: 68 games, 28 sacks
Ellis without Abraham: 21 games, 16.5 sacks (over 68 games, translates into well over 50 sacks.)

Great stat...I would like to see stay but the truth of the matter is that he is the best trade bait we have. If we can get a couple of picks for him or an offensive playmaker so be it.

I wouldn't give one dollar to Pennington. much less $2M until I'm sure he HAS an arm. He looked terrible last year (arm strength) BEFORE he got hurt (and operated on) AGAIN last fall. We're already in cap hell--Let's start cutting our losses unless and until he shows he's got an arm.

well, here are you options then

    • You cut Pennington don't pay him a dime but take a huge cap hit
    • You are not able to restructure Penny but are forced to keep him you still take a huge cap hit and pay him the money
    • Or settle on a deal where you only pay him $2 million plus incentives get huge cap relief and potentially pay him less than the $$ he would get otherwise
