I rooted for various teams as a young boy. After 9/11 I wanted to root for a NY team. Giants fans always seemed annoying and cocky to me, and the Jets had way better colors in my 11 year old mind. Been bleeding green ever since.

I've told this story before but some haven't heard it. When I was 12 I had surgery for scoliosis. When I awoke in the recovery room there was a man with a leg cast on. I asked him what happened and he said " I got clipped."
It was Lee White, a running back for the Jets. A couple of days later he was in a wheelchair riding around signing autographs.

When he came to me he wrote this "Richard, we spent hours together in the recovery room. Friend always, Lee White #34 New York Jets. I still have that.
Five years later I was at Hofstra working the dorms where they stayed and drinking with Namath and of course there was the bacon story....

    Saw Namath play

1975, give or take a year. My dad and my uncle took me to a game at Shea and Namath played - that's all I remember. I think he threw a TD pass, but I'm not sure.

late 70s for me, my dad took me to my first game at Shea in probably 1979. At least long enough ago to remember picking up one of those Joe Klecko posters that is GeshJet's avatar, I cant remember if it was Shell or Mobil that had them. I had a Rob Carpenter (Giants RB) one too. Cant remember any of the others they had.

In 1985 I remember him taking down QB Dave Kreig of Seattle from his knees as a NT...he actually crawled past the center on the play.....incredible.

I became a fan in 2010! Haha my family is hugeeee about football but living in Milwaukee, It's always been the Pack. I didn't really get into football until my mom and I watched the season of Hardknocks with the Jets...I've had a crush on Sanchez and a love for the Jets ever since! Haha

I remember that play and game well, that was the first time we beat Seattle after losing the first 7 times we faced them. Since that win in '85 we have gone 8-2 against them.

Are you counting Vinny's phantom TD as one of those 8 wins against the Seahawks?

yes that counts especially considering Keyshanw had caught a TD and was forced out after he easily would have come down in bounds the play before(this was before the force out was legal).

Was that a 4th down sneak by Vinny?

    I can't remember.
