I grew up as a Jet fan because of my grandpa. My dad loved the Giants though so I leaned more towards the Jets but liked the Giants. I started liking football in 96 when I was about 4 years old. I really became an official diehard fan in the year 2000 when I said If the Giants win the superbowl Ill be a Giants fan and if they lose ill be a Jets fan.

    Thank you Ravens.

1973 and I was eight years old. Joe Namath was the "face" of the NFL kind of like Peyton Manning over the past few years. The Jets were horrible then but I became a diehard and have been one ever since. I found out that Namath went to Alabama so I started following The Tide (still do) and their QB Richard Todd...then when the Jets drafted Todd, I thought it just couldn't get any better than that! Keep in mind I have always lived in NE Ohio.

I can remember going to my first game in I want to say 1991 or 1992 when i was either 4 or 5. I remember getting this perforated sheet of trading cards. Still think I have the Browning Nagle and James Hasty cards somewhere haha. It's been an unhealthy addiction ever since.

When I was a kid, WPIX 11 carried the Jets games the entire season in 96'. I watched and learned the game of football at the age of 8. My first intro to the Jets was the Kotite era (YUCK!!). In 02' my uncle took me to the Jets vs Colts playoff game and they won 41-0. Was sold ever since.....

1986 I was nine years old. Nobody in my family was a Jets fan at the time I just picked them because I liked the helmet. Stuck with them ever since and will die a Jets fan.

1985 - when the NFL started to become popular in the UK

The Jets started out badly, got really hot, stumbled towards the end, got in as a wild card then got shat on by the Patriots

plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose!

When I was a kid, I'd root for the Giants & Jets because they both were NY teams. Around 1980, the NY Sack Exchange drew my attention & started leaning more towards the Jets. Gastineau's sack dances were kinda stupid but I still enjoyed watching them. He seemed to be having fun on the field and it made the game more fun for me.

Watching the famous Mud Bowl, I was shocked at how underhanded Shula and the Dolphins were. Even though Jets lost, I became a hard core Jets fan after that game. Part of me foolishly felt that justice was coming and the Jets would win a SB soon afterwards.

During the Kotite years, I used to wonder many times WTF I was thinking sticking with this team but my heart just wouldn’t let me move my allegiance anywhere else.

I used to go to Jets game as a small child with my father at Shea. Saw Namath many times. I think my first game was 67 or 68.

As JetsUK but 1984. So at least I saw some wild card and divisional round games early on. I feel for those born into lean times.
