Let's put color aside. I like geno a lot. He is a big dude who can sling the ball and is kind smart. If he falls then do it. The first round does not have much to offer.
You never know. That's why teams are gonna get a bust or a stud in Geno. Thank god for the rookie wage scale they implemented AFTER the sanchez draft.
If geno was white, would people be calling him a potential bust? Geno is like a big ben type of guy. In cold weather games he is gonna protect the ball and maybe scramble to extend the play.
This is nonsense. Was anyone talking about race when RG3 was highly drafted? Not at all, it was about ability. Which RG3 has a ton of and Geno lacks. You truly think we and other scouts analyze QBs around race nowadays?
i could be wrong, but if we bring in a new GM im willing to bet we get a new QB regardless of what round it is. any GM knows tebow is gone, sanchez can't start here, and mcelroy isn't the answer. if we pick at 10 and geno falls to lets say 5, could you see a new GM trading up for him? i don't think its out of the question, regardless if you agree or not (im not saying i agree with it, but i think its possible)
lol yeah i'd be pissed off too, im just saying i could see if happening if geno falls to pick 5 or around that area
According to Rob Parker RG3 isn't black but really there is a stigma against both black and small QB's but that's just how things are RG3 doesn't change how people speak of Vick, Russell, Young, McNabb and Newton that's just how things are RG3 carries himself differently than Cam that's why they're judged like that because to some its not about race but perception while to others it's mostly about color which is sometimes true
I'd rather wait for an elite franchise QB. If he falls far, then fine. But I want to see OL and OLB picks.
his stock will drop significantly. maybe out of the first round. I think Glennon is the first QB gone.
Today's bowl game could be a blessing in disguise. Geno might drop to the Jets. He has all the tools to be a good QB in the NFL, and more importantly, he has the drive to learn and improve. Remember that many of the top QB's in this league improved dramatically after their rookie year, and did not necessarily light the NFL on fire during their first year.
Nope I am passing on him, the sad part is in the begining of the year he was the pick I wanted. At this point I dont see that much of a differenece between Smith, Nassib, and Glennon. Atleast not enough to justify a first round pick vs a 2nd or 3rd round pick.
I'm personally against drafting any QB in the first round this year. Second round or later yes, but none in my eyes are worthy of being a first round pick, at least in the top 15-20 picks.
