SERIOUSLY? You think it's worse that a team cheats in a game, than keeping a murderous gang member on its roster? Wow, just WOW! SMH
You read it again. I have no need to. You're the one with the reading comprehension problem. I read what Kurt said, and I disagree wholeheartedly. Oh, the Patriots cut him after he was charged? How about all the time he was on the team and in a gang and acting like a thug? They're excused for that too? You don't hide that kind of attitude and character. You keep trying to put me down, but always fail. LOL Keep trying. One of these days you might succeed, but I doubt it. You can't even write a proper English sentence.
Ok. To answer the OP specific question here is what I would do if I were Mac. 1- Realize the error of my ways. No more high paid free agents for a mediocre team unless they fit our long range plan and they are very, very young i.e. No older than 25. 2- We are in a full blown rebuild mode like it or not, folks. Moving up is not an option. 3- We have not found our QB yet and the miracle pick ain't there this draft, so QB on the first round is not an option. 4- We will trade down all day long, but only if the value is there 5- We are not in the business of tanking, so if you think so for the number 1 pick in 2018 forget it 6- We will build thru the draft, and get every fucking piece in place till we get our QB. We will give a real shot at the two QBs we have and continue our search for more. Do not be surprised if a QB from the Buffalo Bills joins our team. 7- We will need to give this regime 2 more years, and if we don't see some real progress blow up the whole damned lot
Good. An educated Patriots fan. What a rarity. [Thermo - that's a fun stuff.] But the cheating part does not come from Ideal Gas Law. [Well. Yeah. Part of it, but not whole.] Good try though. I give you a thumbs up for that. [You are indeed one of the few Patriots fan that acknowledge the root cause of this cheating scandal. And I am not being sarcastic here, like I usually am toward other Patriots fans. I shit you not.] If you really want - maybe you want to look into mechanics instead.
It looks like he is dumping high paid veterans that under- performed last year while telling potential suitors that he wants to trade down from # 6.
this is worse, i thought you misunderstood what kurt said. instead, you think no nfl team should have anyone on the team that "acts like a thug" lol, ok. i don't try to put you down, you shouldn't be so defensive. there is no need to put you down. you accomplish that yourself with most of your posts.
Wow you sound like a lawyer, if I ever need you I hope I can afford you. Give me a second so I can put my Lawyer's hat. You are correct this was not a criminal case. Actually it was a labor case and had the NFL players not signed over their rights and allowed Article 46 to exist, Brady probably would never have been suspended. He would have won the case because the NFL did not follow "due process" standard. So in the labor world in which many of use work in, an employee has a right to "due process". It is "due process" where the proof beyond a reasonable doubt requirement pops up by the way, am I wrong? Unfortunately for Brady and the NFL union, the federal appeals court did not agree that "due process" trumped Article 46 as in Judge Berman's legal decision. It appears from what I can tell now, Brady decided to drop the case due his Mother's illness. Honestly I am glad he did, because this case was a waste of our legal system in my opinion. As to the phone, during the case with Berman, Brady's phone records were actually revealed because even after you destroy you phone, your text messages are still not expunged. As Brady feared, an embarrassing text saying he had claimed "game over" Peyton Manning was revealed. At first I did consider Brady's destruction of his phone very damaging to his case. However I have learned this actually a very common practice by celebrities. When all was said and done, his phone records were revealed and nothing came from it other than embarrassing texts. Now comes the hard part, what actually happened? I can say I do not know with 100% certainty what happened. Having studied, I mean really studied the case, more than many you have, I do have a plausible theory. 1. Brady was pissed because the refs had over inflated some footballs that they had submitted in a previous game. When I say they over inflated, it was much higher than 13 psi, the maximum limit rule limit. 2. The Patriots submitted their footballs at 11.5 psi. which they usually do, just barely making the minimum rule requirement. 3. The refs actually probably didn't bother testing all the balls but a few. 4. The Patriots equipment manager actually went to the bathroom to check the psi of the footballs. 5. The Ideal Gas Law, yes real science says that the pressure of a football will decrease due to it being proportional to temperature. However much science, it isn't an exact science. In the formula PV = nRT, assumes you have an ideal gas which is commonly not the case. Also other things start getting into play like the elasticity of the football itself based on the material used to construct it. But the pressure of the balls did decrease, but exactly how much would be difficult to say. 6. The balls were probably observed to be to low and you know the rest of the story. So when Brady argues I never told my guys to underinflate the ball, he would be not lying. Did he tell his guys to make sure the footballs were not over inflated, he did. When his guys stuck needled in the balls they were officially breaking the rules. The Colts equipment managers when they stuck their needles into the balls, they were also breaking the rules. No punishment was ever given to them. Also one could argue they tainted the balls by doing so. When you measure a football, the very act causes the psi to drop. When the Giants folks stuck their needles into the Steeler's footballs thinking they were to low recently, they did not receive any punishment either. In a recent Pats game, the officials left all the game balls in their hotel because they forgot to bring them. These facts prove the NFL really doesn't care about psi of footballs. When it is all said and done, this was a case about nothing. It was a case based on 31 NFL owners who are sick of the Patriots winning and they instructed Goodell to throw the book at them. That is the real truth here.
Apparently the Jets are making all of their draft picks available to move down in the draft. They definitely seem like they want to stockpile picks. If they aren't going draft a QB early, it makes sense, actually. Trade down a few notches and get some extra 2nds and 3rds. This team has a lot of gaps to fill, so more picks is better. Hopefully they can move Richardson for a couple picks as well. IMO getting him off the team is key. He's a bad influence on Wilkerson and others in the locker room. The last thing this team needs is locker room cancer when their core will be mostly young guys. Get them started the right way.
From what I've seen so far I'd do exactly what he's doing but I'd just finish the job Next cuts for me would be Decker Harris Gilchrist Skrine
I would keep Decker for one season yet, would cut Harris if we get Minter, would cut Gilchrist if we get Jefferson, would keep Skrine.
Why would the Patriots being punished for Spygate be enough when the accusations of wrongdoing continued on even before deflategate?? The way they acted during that investigation told anyone with a brain all they needed to know. Nothing had changed since 08. And then you had Kraft's comments about things helping "1%". Well sorry...1% is enough to be outraged when the team wins repeatedly. If the Steelers cheated as you say...they should be punished to the fullest extent. When they are barred from multiple 1st round selections & subject to a federal investigation for underhanded game day behavior..I'll have the same outrage for them that I do the Patriots.Until that day...I'm just calling it like I see it. If I was delusional & "Brainwashed" by the media...I would have thrown my hands up from all this long ago. Afterall..Brady & Bellichick can do no wrong in the media's eyes.We never hear about the cheating anymore but for the fans who understand the legal process & who aren't afraid to back down to petty "5 rings baby" narrative. There is more than enough evidence to look down upon how the Patriots conduct themselves as a franchise..and I will not back down from that proclamation. What I will agree with you about is that the Jets need to worry about the Jets...not the Patriots. Right now..they are in a whole nother class even with that precious 1% Kraft speaks of.
As it pertains to the actual game of football...yes the cheating is worse. What Hernandez did was morally MUCH worse..but that nonsense has no place in the game. He's in jail now. The Patriots cheated in most likely many many contests and they still are a functioning successful member of the league. That affects the integrity of the game. No not the same as murder...or a street gang. But still a serious underhanded movement.
OK, thanks for the clarification. I definitely think that real life is more important than the game of football. Because of the Pats, Goodell, and other factors, I wonder sometimes how much "integrity" the NFL really has.
I wonder that you would wonder. The NFL has long ago sold its soul to those who make money off the game - the gamblers, TV are the prime influences, and have made changes to maximize the profit for those entities, and in turn themselves. Not the NFL is the only sport/league to do this, but they've taken it to the extreme. I have no proof, but only circumstantial "evidence" that they have gone so far as to manipulate games, by giving directions to officials on what to call and who to call it on, and when. This last SB was a prime example of that IMO. But aside from that, over the past few years how often have you seen teams being blown out at half time, come back and make it close or win in the fourth quarter? I don't think it's blatant, by any means, but I think the officials have their "thumb on the scale", and tilt a game in favor of a team that pumps of TV ratings. Maybe this is just paranoia and sour grapes on my part, but I don't think there's a coincidence when so many come from behind wins or near-wins which drive up fan interest.
Tradjing down, accumulating more picks, and still yielding a top notch TE or OT makes logical sense to me. I figure with how many holes this team has, unless they trade down and accumulate more picks there's no way they'll ever turn this around in a reasonable timeframe.
Hmm.. Curious to see what scrub Vet they pick up this coming week for the 2017 QB show I would be thrilled but Hack/Petty term is not in the cards imo..and in todays market nothing comes cheap Mike G or anyone out there will be 13 or 15M per I will fall off my chair if this scheme works..oh wait TB makes sure it doesn't hahah..They will tell Glennon on third down to have a seat we will go for the Field Goal moohaha
Perhaps I was a bit to harsh on you, but when you hear people over and over claim that your team only wins because they cheat, you get very annoyed. The reason they win is very simple, they are just better coached and the players are better. You have ex jocks like Marshall Faulk who can't accept the fact they lost and they come out with bogus statements like the Patriots video taped their walk through. Then people listen to this and believe it is factual. They are just as annoying as Patriot fans who can't accept the fact the Giants were better than the undefeated Patriots in the Super Bowl. Let just say for the sake of argument, the Patriots actually did no wrong during deflategate, would their actions possibly make more sense to you? Do the media put Belichick and Brady on a pedestal? Yes they do. They always start boasting how great a team is when they are winning a game. It can be very annoying to listen to when all you want is the play by play. There are to many QB media types brainwashing fans that all games are decided by the QBs. So I can see your frustration. But just remember you never see Belichick or Brady going around saying how great they are. They always show respect to the other team and its players in the media. So when people start this so called arrogant article, they just don't know what they are talking about. Recently Belichick ripped into a Boston media interview when he was asked how he prepares his team against not so good teams. He reminded them how their 2004 team which was 12-1 lost to a Dolphin team that was 2-11 that year. He then rightfully ripped into them that any coach in the NFL that doesn't take their opponent seriously has no business coaching. That does sound arrogant to you?
