If Sanchez has a scroring year like 2011 minus at least half the turnovers and near 60% comp rate he stays.

For ridiculous money, he won't be making anywhere near what his contract calls for. Not even close. He can be cut with little or no cap hit next season instead of the 13.1M in 2014, 15.6M in 2015, and 13.8M in 2016. Unless he puts up Bree's or Rogers numbers anyways, and he won't come close.

In short he'll be cut, maybe resigned at a lower rate but my guess is unless he really shines this year as a well above average QB he's history.

I've already staked my wager that he won't even be league average this year an DVOA.

Exactly. He needs to earn his keep with what they're paying him now, nevermind an extension.

What's all this talk about team success? Jets made it to the AFC championship game with Sanchez throwing 12td 20int and a sub 60 rating. You telling me if they get to the Superbowl overcoming Sanchez typical year then he deserves an extension? No how about we judge him on how he plays the position of QB. First lets see him have an average statistical year for the first time in his life and then we will talk.
