What else can we use to measure the value of a player than the past history of what was traded for those players OR what those players are paid while referencing other positions?
Just to remind you JV. Mosley ws the highest paid LB in the league until the Mack trade. Mosley is still the 4th highest paid LB in the league. Just behind Bobby Wagner, another ILB, who is 2 years older then Mosley.
I guess I misunderstood your post. I thought you were mocking his play with us. My mistake. Sorry about that.
Right. Because you continue to neglect the difference between edge rushers and off the ball linebackers. What a good measuring stick. Is Von Miller in that same category? James Harrison? DeMarcus Lawrence? TJ Watt? Terrell Suggs? Did you have a chance to review those two links I sent you? Here - I'll post them again for a refresh. https://overthecap.com/position/edge-rusher/ https://overthecap.com/position/linebacker/ You see the difference classifications or what? And don't insult Bobby Wagner dude. He's a first ballot Hall of Famer and one of the best two or three off the ball linebackers since Urlacher/Lewis retired.
You can pretend I didn't make a point but the reality is that 2 of the top 4 LBs in the league are inside LBs - who your claim have far less value. It was your claim that their salary is a measure of their value. By that measure Mosley is the 4th most valuable LB in the league.
Did Lawrence Taylor and Ray Lewis play the same position? Do Bobby Wagner and TJ Watt play the same position?
This conversation has gone nowhere. This isn't a "who is better" subjective debate. It will come to pass and time will reveal who was right. If I was wrong I'll be able to admit it. Will you?
I'd be glad to try to help you understand the game as it's played. But I can't read for you. Where in my previous post did I say anything about either options in either question being better? Are the B position and the R position in these diagrams the same position? Do the have the same responsibility?
Give it up dude. My point was this isn't a debate like "who is better, Joe Montana or Peyton Manning", where the real answer cannot be known. In time the answer to this discussion will come to pass and we will see who was correct and who was mistaken. I'm happy to wait for the result and if I was mistaken I will admit it. However, I don't expect you or most of the others on this thread to admit it if they were mistaken. But there will be a lot of excuses and justifications for those mistakes. That is the TGG way.
Oh okay. So once again you're putting words into my mouth because you have very big reading comprehension problems. But you are right about one thing. My post and questions have nothing to do with who is better. It has to do with the fact that you have a very basic misunderstanding of the game, and the difference in linebackers and formations and how they are different positions. All good though. You just made yourself look like a fool. Not me.
Vilma's a great example. He had a Pro Bowl appearance, a DROY and was four years younger when he was traded. Do you know what he was traded for?
We got to keep him and hope he comes back at 100%. He’s a really good player when healthy and I think he can lead our D.
