I've often thought about this. I honestly think I'd have a heart attack if they won, and I'm in my mid 30's. Not even sure if I sould survive the run-up to gametime. I can't imagine what the preceding two weeks would be like. I'd take a sabbatical from work, my kids' diapers would go unchanged, I'd hole myself up with the computer and ESPN, my dog would die of malnurishment, my wife would run off with the milkman, the U.S. would be annexed by Canada...
Get ready for three or four more Super Bowls in the next decade or so. I don't want one Super Bowl, I want a dynasty.
Holy s--t, I watched the first super bowl win screaming my head off in my rec room that I built myself in 1966. We moved into our new house in 1965. Those sure were wonderful years. As for what will happen when we win our next one I can't say for sure, except they better hurry up. I am 68 years old. Allentown Ernie.
Ah, one of THESE threads. It'll go one of two ways when Superbowl Sunday comes... 1) I'll get creamed by a runaway Snow Plow on my front lawn. Buh-bye. 2) I'll clutch my chest and drop dead where I stand as soon as the JETS take the field. Gurgle some, spittle flecks on my lips, twitch a spell. Buh-bye. As fate is bound to have it, I guess I won't get to see it either way. Fancy that.
it would be really fun they to do all this when they win the super bowl. I hope it happens sooner than later.
My friends ask me this every year. I honestly don't know what I would do. It seems to be something that I just can't imagine happening. Safe to say I would probably cry, though.
As I did with the Mets in 86 and the Rangers in 94 - light up a stogie, grab my favorite adult beverage and bask in the glory!!!!!
Stare at the T.V. screen for about an hour repeating to myself I cant believe it FINALLY happened. Then sleep from disbelief and wake up the next morning and do my happy dance. LOL!!!!
Sorry to hear that. Tell you what I'll do. Just swing on in to Captain Spaulding's Museum of Monsters and Madmen and I'll hook you up with some of my WORLD FAMOUS FRIED CHICKEN. Enjoy the ride.
I would light up a fine Cuban cigar and open the bottle of Chivas Regal Royal Solute I have been saving for the last 17 years. I bought the bottle when I got married and stowed it away. After this long, the only thing worth opening it for would be a New York Jets Super Bowl win.
I think i would go to as many homes of the people on this site as i could and yell and scream and shake them around.
Well I also watched SB3 in my family room. Even before the game ended I was on the phone to my bro in SF telling him we did it, we did it. The feelings are really very hard to communicate but the afterglow is really, really terrific. Especially watching the CHAMPIONSHIP flag being raised before the start of game 1 of the next season. Sorry that are so few of us still around that experienced that most wonderful feeling on 01/12/69
