Simple answer is everything. The truth is it all went downhill when Folk completely botched that kick, setting NE up with great field position.
That too. Should have put that in my post. I blame Ryan for Folk even being out there. Doesn't change the fact that Folk wasn't even CLOSE on the kick.
I agree. I thought we ran the ball well for the situation we were in. The running game takes time to get going, and if you chip away and convert a few 3rd or 4th downs on the ground, that works wonders on your confidence. Play-calling was bad yet again, but, I assume it will be just about every week anyway.
Bottom line is Sanchez. If he play's good, the Jets are in that game. Brady wouldn't have time to rack up 45 pts. and the Defense might have had a better game. He has so many weapons and he still struggles. He's young and inexperienced and even though he takes some steps forward, it's not fast enough to win everything right now. I don't think the Jets are gonna get there this year. And no matter what you say, Shottys offense looks the same no matter who you plug in at QB, RB, WR, or TE. Callahan can coach the offense.
Exactly. And Sanchez said that even if we were running the ball well we had to get something going through the air otherwise the clock was going to run out.
I think that was the beginning crack in the game too. I thought that was kinda of a long kick into the swirling wind and how great the field position would be if he missed. Which Folk did. I think that was a poor decision on Ryans part. I also thought the interception on the 1st Jets drive of the 3rd quarter was big too. The Jets were driving and a TD would have at least made it a game. If the Defense could then make a stop who knows what happens in a half of football. But Sanchez throws the INT and the Pats take it all the way back for a TD and the rout was on. The pass interference play was pretty big too obviously. You know if the Jet player had just let Gronowski try and make the play he might not have caught it. It looked to be a tough catch. But he didn't know where the ball was.
Yup, it was a clusterfuck of a game. The interception basically killed the game. If we got a TD you're right, we're down 14 the team is galvanized a bit and with another stop who knows. Instead we got...that. The PI was awful. He had good coverage on him, but he just couldn't find the damn ball. Leonhard may be a liability in coverage because he gets beat but Smith is a penalty machine.
not only that, but they had the steeler film to show them how brady used the pass game to attack and dismantle the pitt defense. it's easy to see sending only 3 guys on the rush does not work. 4 or more is a minimum.
Everything Offense was terrible Defense was pathetic Special Teams was awful (Two terrible punts, missed FG, short kickoffs, short returns)
This has gone into my top 5 posts of the year. You obviously know football. You have also saved me putting into words my feeling all week. What the fuck were our "top" coaches doing for 10 days? Nice post buddy.
He is actually a she. I know she's a big Dorothy fan, but used to have a gambling problem. That's the genesis of her name
