The most promising thing and positive thing is, he once again stepped up, got his shit together and made plays when he had to and made yet another 4th quarter comeback and ensure the win.
It's amazing how many people want STYLE points with our wins. Sure we could have done some things better out there today, but we won. A check mark in the W column. Is San Fran getting style points for their wins? Baltimore? Houston? Nope and all of them will see the playoffs. The Giants weren't getting style points either when they took down the 18-0* patriots and won the super bowl. Solid WIN today JETS
except this is a thread about looking promising, which means to show development indicative of future success. inconsistency inherently means the opposite -- it does not reflect future success because you can't anticipate how this team is going to play from snap to snap, nevertheless game to game. that is extremely different from San Francisco whose play is consistent, and thus you can project development from.
It was nice to see big Mo getting some solid pressure up the middle. It's amazing how collapsing the pocket like that really improve the pass rush as a whole. Seeing him play today brought back memories of Kris Jenkins manhandling opposing centers. This kid is going to be a beast.
They rolled Sanchez out in the first half but not once in the second half. Schotty still doesn't get it. Sanchez is great when you roll him out. D stepped it up after Washington's first couple possessions. Maybin is a beast! Sanchez with another 4th qtr comeback.
aw yea, but, this is not anything new, he usually plays well in 4th quarter but he was really sucking on the first half in the last games, so i thought that the fact he played really well in it today was an even more promising point wow seriously? impressive
Big props to Maybin today. I don't understand how anyone can not be excited about him at this point - leading the team with 6 sacks after he was given up for dead in Buffalo and then cut by the Jets before the season even got started. His sack/fumble turned the game around today. His technique looks more solid every week. Props to Greene for coming back from a painful game last week and scoring 3 TDs. Props to Schotty for not giving up on the run game for a change and letting Greene grind it out (inordinate amount of direct-snap calls aside). Props to Bart Scott for bringing the fire.
while this is true and he deserves props for moving the ball around, I just hated 2 playcalls. the TE screen to Mulligan (if you want to run that screen, give it to Keller at least he has a shot at gaining 11 yards without fumbling/drop/tip pass to an INT. The other was also with us backed up, the quick bubble screen to turner. those playcalls sucked, not because they were conservative, but because they werent to guys who had no chance to make a play. the bubble screen should have been Kerleys, and keller on the aforementioned te screen.
I was more so commenting on the fact that there are tons of people who are complaining we didn't do this, do that, etc... We got a Win which is what we needed. Sure we could USE to improve on pass rush, improve on covering a TE, improve on the run game.. What we NEED is to win. And that is what we did As for looking promising besides winning the game, I think our Offensive line was about as good as it's been all year. And our defense was able to shake off an awful start and come back and play solid afterwards
No. That must be a lie. He locks in on to Burress or Keller on every play. Everybody on this board and all the experts on TV know this.
I liked that the O-line did a decent job against a strong pass rush, the entire Jets defense got away with alot of penalties it was weird to watch since it is usually the other way around, other than that solid play from everyone, Maybin is looking better which is exciting, Bart Scott came to fucking play today which was awesome and Mo Wilk was great as well I love that dude. Besides O-line the offense was shitty, Greene ran like shit all game until the end, Sanchez was awful, his throws were so off with the tiniest bit of pressure, Holmes almost got killed because of it, but at the end with alot of help from the defense they got it done, if this gives them a spark to play like they did at the end of the game and the defense continues what they did today I'll be very excited going into the final 4 games.
Maybe the coaching staff was afraid that the screen play is just the sort of call that would have Keller tying to jump over would-be tacklers. We know how good that worked last time.
My main grip is he is missing a lot of wide open guys that have to be hit thus failing to sustain drives, which is costly when your facing a more formidable opponent than the Redskins. He also should've have been picked today, and I know should have's don't count, but these shortcomings will be taken advantage of by teams that aren't the Redskins. Today he played good enough to win.
The Good: Sanchez hit 10 receivers The Bad: Sanchez hit Mulligan and Turner Room for improvement: Only hit 8 receivers next time
On his last TD I really wanted him to take a nap on the football again. Good thing he has better judgment than I do.
