Are you that bored that you have to ask this question? Am curious since you bought this up, where did you stand on the herm signing? As far as experience goes, coaching wise I would give mangini a slight edge here because mangini actually did some coaching before he came here and learned from some of the better coaches in the league. Herm was a position coach who never made it to coordinator, didn't have the coaches around him that mangini did with maybe the exception of vermeil. He then proved that he couldn't coach once he was given the job. He was more of a delegator then a coach. While herm did play the game and mangini did not, it's been proven that doesn't usually make you a better coach in the long run.
No, you misunderstand me. Completely. What is there to add to a post berating a board full of people for something that happened 5 years ago when you were not there? My post count is meaningless, and so is yours. Everyone here is a person who has an opinion to share. But when you start a thread attacking the general populace of the board, prepare to be attacked.
In my case I saw that Herm was incompetant from the get go & expressed that opinion on this board over & over again. In EM case we are hoping due to his pedigree that he will be many, many times better then Herm was.
I think since the Herm hire worked out so well, a lot of us aren't to worried. Not only that, Herm was never even a cordinator he was a defensive backs coach. Eric has a better pedigree, with the the only knock on him being his age.
I'll tell you why. Because none of the 1st round QB's in this draft spell "HOF" or even "greatness" to me. I don't think Leinart, Young, or Cutler will ever go down as one of the greats so I'd rather take D'Brick or Mario at #4.
I don't think we deserve to be criticized by someone who roots against his own team. #1 Jets fan, indeed.
I had to qoute a cj post that had a glimmer of sunshine!!! You must of had a great birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think you got it wrong. I think most people did not like the Herm hiring because he had no Coordinator experience not Head Coaching experience. Most people don't want some failed retread exhead coach. They want a young coordinator who hasn't already proven to be a failure like the other guys. That is where Mangini and Herm differ. Mangini was in charge of the Patriots defense whereas Herm was only given control of the secondary.
IN short, if we are comparing the two, Mangini has been around super bowl winning teams, a winning coach and at least he has one year of DC experience
Im not sure I understand abyzmuls argument, he could of been reading the board while that happened. So him not signing up means little to nothing. I've heard countless regs on here say that watched and read awhile before they signed up . So... enlighten me ?
He didn't say he watched and read. He said he was here under another username, which implies to me that he was actively posting. Which is BS.
Yes, well, although it sounds plausible, when Herm was hired, the board was days old. He wasn't a member and he didn't have another username. Plus, in the past, #1 Jets Fan has "issues" with the truth.
either way its a retarded post, and out-dated and lets get back to something that has to do with football?????is number1 missing hermy???i dont get it....go to kc then
