Word. I hate that our stadium doesn't have 12th man status yet, but I have to give credit where credit is due. A good chunk of Jets fans are from the Shea stadium era. The fact that those guys drive across New York City into NJ every game after the team screwed them by leaving is commendable. That said, If I'm dropping $100+ to see a game, I'm staying 'til the end.
Woo, let's rip the fans again! I rarely leave games early, but if you're going to get on people for leaving a 47-3 game when Kellen Clemens is at quarterback, handing the ball off for 10 minutes, you can't blame people for leaving there.
First...people left WAY before that. Second...it's not about BLAME for leaving...just really wondering why they are leaving...winning by a mile, back-up qb or no--I would want to stay to the very end to take it all in...and celebrate with the stadium as the clock ticked down. I'd be with the folks staying to the very last kneel down.
We are a baseball town, it does suck but thats the way it is. Its only going to get worse with the new stadium.
i cant blame fans for leaving today. the game was put away, i didnt even watch most of the 3rd or fourth quarters on tv. i wouldn't have wanted to sit outside to watch the jets run out the clock. its just not that exciting. the only thing i can't stand about our fans is that they show up like 6 hours before kickoff and cant get into the stadium until halfway through the 1st quarter, that annoys me. but that is a different story.
