Agreed I'd rather open at home.
I think the Pats week 1 will definitely be in Foxsboro though, as they will be celebrating the Super Bowl (which will make me sick).

So if we can't get the Pats at home, maybe Cleveland at home like Brook said.
That would be an interesting matchup.

Bills. We just owe them an ass whooping and first game is the perfect game. Josh Allen will sack Josh Allen and all will be glorious.

Yeah first time since 2004 I think. It is not a permanent move just for this season because of the NFL's 100th anniversary......Bears vs GB is the oldest rivalry.

IIRC, the defending champion Patriots(ugh) kicked off that season at home against Indy.

You’re right then it was 2003 when the Jets lost to the Skins on a FG by ex-Jet John Hall.

I think the Browns will probably be a primetime game a bit later on in the season, which could be fun. I don’t want the Giants because we always play them week 3 of the preseason and that’s a quick turnaround. I think I’d enjoy Dolpins at Metlife to open, or I’d also be satisfied with Bills in our house. I like the idea of one of our weaker division rivals to give the new O-Line a chance to gel and get Bell’s feet underneath him. I like the idea of one round with division opponents in the first few weeks and then another round in the last few weeks.

I don't want the Steelers first game. I won't Bell to be in prime time after a few games before we face them. My gut says we open on the road, probably against Cincinnati

Where's the balls around here? Why not blow into New England in prime time and screw up their celebration and piss in Kraft's cornflakes? Set the stage for a new attitude!

I guess not wanting to be in NE during the ring ceremony bullshit. Though they are beatable early in the year. It could be a real shot in the arm for us.

i do think the jets will be a 2nd half of the season team next year so it would seem advantageous for them to start with the more difficult part of the schedule. Get the kinks out and get the QB more experience against better teams early on.

I would be fine with Miami or Bills. Cleveland game should 100% be a primetime game. Not sure the Jets will open the season on primetime back to back seasons though.

It would be pretty cool if the battle for NJ/NY was rolled out week 1. Would be an intense way to kickoff the season.

You've won me over. Initially I hoped for it to be home, but BackToQueens made a good point about them being defending champs. They're not getting the Thursday game so they'll definitely open at home at least. As far as watching the ceremony etc, what do they really show on TV? Maybe for the players it'll fire them up even more. Let's go for it - in Foxboro to open!

Jets are coming off a 4 win season so the league will probably want a better matchup for NE on opening week. The Jets at most will get 2 primetime games(IMHO) this year and I think it will be just one. Maybe the Steelers, Browns, or Bills. Bell vs his old team, Darnold-Mayfield, Darnold-Allen. With the Jets-Bills its a rivalry game with both teams possibly trending up.

An early season home opener vs NE would open up the opportunity for some hilarious signs and banners..... and some not-so-family friendly chants. :D

Pats, there's not even a close 2nd. Right out of the gate, I want them to have home field with everyone in the stadium feeling themselves and leave that bitch quiet when we leave.

The idea of beating the Pats in NE is great, but not too practical IMO.

Start off against someone shitty and build a little momentum. Dolphins.
