Both excellent points. Herms teams will never lie down and die, but they shoot themselves in the head at any time.

I have no love lost for Herm, but the play was not unlike the Leon Johnson toss vs. Detroit at the end of the 1997 season that ultimately cost us the playoffs that year. Parcells was never villified for that call to the same extent.

I would say Chargers game this year when we get to the one yard line at the end of the game and have a chance to win it with bollinger and/or Martin and we throw up 3 straight lob passes, of course incomplete

The backlash from that play was built up from all the s*** we'd gone through with Hackett and that offense. Every Jets fan was already screaming for his head. We finally had what looked like an actual groove going on offense. Just when we're about to pretty much close the deal, he decides to get cute. Hackett (and by association, Herm) had no room for error. Herm is the man at the top, so he catches the most heat for it. Parcells had a little more wiggle room because at the end of the day, let's face it, he's Bill Parcells.

Running down the clock against Carolina in the 4th quarter. You don't just give up...you try to score points!

The destruction of the Colts in the playoffs 41-0 was one of my favorites.

Lots of ups and downs...just ended up terrible.

That was pretty bad. It takes a lot to piss me off, but that did it.

    Where you been anyway, stranger?

    hi tony

been a busy year for me i am back working my original career and things are hectic with the family and all.......

i had a couple of interviews for scouting positions at the end of last year but they didn't work out for a variety of reasons. its time to sit back and enjoy football as a fan and not worry about moving the family, making connections or not straying too far from the club so to say.

the jets are re-building - again - but somehow i think we may have something here. the last time i had this impression was with parcells of course. never had it with walton, coslet, carrol, kotite, and edwards.

    all the best

You'll enjoy it more being away from it. It's like how dinner always tastes better if someone else makes it. Well, as long as that person isn't my mother

Looking forward to more discussions with you this year.

easy--all of jets nation wanting Pro bowl safety Ed Reed from U. of Miami. Boobway and clock mangement Edwards reach for 3rd rounder Bryan Thomas from football powerhose UAB. Clueless.

The Ravens games that were both mentioned...

But the top play has to be setting up a 47 yard field goal against Pitt. That was really ingeniusl

    Good one, nyjunc.

    So true.

For me it was week 16 2002. Following a tough loss against a bad Bears team the Jets bounced back on SNF and kicked the defending SB champions asses setting the stage for a dramatic AFC East title clinching home win in week 17.:)

which games were those? was it the playcalling that made coles drop a sure TD, Chrebet drop a big ball, Coles get a big penalty against oak in '02? Was it the playcalling that made Richie Anderson fumble in '01? Was it the playcalling that made Doub brien miss 2 makeable kicks? The players have to execute, they were put in position to win.

Playcalling cost the Jets the Playoff Game against the Steelers.

My problem is the way a lot of you treat the last few years like it was the Richie Kotite or Lou Holtz years. Maybe we didn't go as far as we could, but these recent years have really made me a devoted Jets fan.

Good moments: Beating the Packers, Beating the Chargers in the playoffs.
Bad: The kneel against Pittsburgh, any game against New England.

Best moments - chads bomb to moss in the chargers game. 41 - 0 thawacking of the colts
