The My Morning Jacket show last night was pretty sick..... not a band I listen to recorded albums of, but their live shows are a different level. awesome night

You're going to turn into that old grimy dude that you always see at every show. :D

Maybe, but I guess it's better than being the old grimy dude at the end of the college bar ;)
Two of my best friends are older than me and go to even more shows, so as long as they're still kicking I'm safe from being "That guy".... one was at this show (and he's way older and grimier than me), the other was on his way to Bonnaroo...

After years of having to drive to JAX or Gainesville, or somewhere to see good live music, so I'm stoked to have this great venue right here (and they book good bands) so I try to support em to keep it going.... got tix to a few more upcoming shows to totally different styles of music.

I usually buy the "cheap seats" and just wander around and never go to them. Thursday night an usher gave me a "pit pass" and I got up right by the stage

This is maybe the coolest song and best singer I’ve ever seen or heard. And what a dancer! Those hands! Those radishes! Mercurial talent Freddy Mercury could only dream of posessing…

Ha, yeah, technically.... it's an amphitheater, so most of it is ticketed seating (aside from the "pit section" and GA in the upper corners) luckily the vibe is super chill and ushers are mostly local volunteers that dont give a fuk (they briefly hired rent-a-cop security guards that took their jobs too seriously, but thankfully that didnt last very long) so unless its a band I'm really into, I usually buy the cheap tickets for up top and never even see my seats as I just wander around to where the sound is best (lined up behind / above the sound guy)....risk is that this time of year the upper section "cheap seats" arent under the canopy if it rains....

There's a much smaller stage tucked into the trees to the upper left called "The Backyard Stage" for bands that wouldnt fill the main venue... That's always general admission and like a party in the woods. (you can see the rectangle by the left pinnacle... thats the cover over the stage)

venue backs up to the State Park, and that's the lighthouse behind.

Not what I expected..... byz pretty fly for a white guy.. is that Aaron Rodgers vacation house?

This grimy dude going to another show tomorrow night.... Not a band I've ever really listened to, but given their pedigree it should be a good time. hopefully they dont disappoint

My musical boundaries exist mainly as a ring wall around country music and now I listen pretty much anything that gets me off.

I'm going to start heading up to Austin for music, the scene in San Antonio is weak.

as a wall around country or as a shield?

One genre the AMP always seems to book is the garbage Pop Nashville "country" shit.... barf.

Cant blame 'em as they almost always sell out (helps some of us hustle parking $... but damn that shit can be stressful sometimes)

Alder is great! I love Fates Warning and his work with Redemption.
