My buddy plays The Black Keys a lot. I really have to knuckle down and give them a long hard listen. _
Cool, hearing some different things in there, particularly around the guitar jam, can't put my finger on it. Love the organ too. A band that started out New Wave and veered off into some wild stuff. Became a favourite
That extended keyboard/guitar jam sort of has a Doors-ish "Light My Fire" vibe to it. Speaking of "Talk Talk," here's some earlier "Talk Talk"
I've been listening to this really good song called umm, I'm coming home. It's great, you guys should check it out. Heh.
Good predaft selection. Nice post waters live show.. I thought Gilmour did a good job pulling that off. Were you into any of the waters or Gilmour solo stuff? I actually liked radio kaos and the first Gilmour album with cruise on it
Funny, I didn't become a Pink Floyd-Waters fan until very late. One of the great great guitar solos of all time. _
Comfortably Numb is my favorite guitar solo ever. I'd take Gilmour as a #1 draft pick as lead guitarist in my fantasy rock band. I'd pair him with Tony Levin on bass Neal Peart on drums (with guest appearance from Chester Thompson), tough to pic a singer...if Jim Morrison was available in the mid-rounds I'd take a flyer on him. Keyboards? Tough one. Bruce Hornsby? Female singer, early Annie Wilson.
After SRV on guitar. I would go Stanley Clarke on bass, Terry Bozzio on drums, Billy Preston on keyboards, Oleta Adams as female vocalist and Earth Wind and Fire as horns/percussion. _
