Most post rock is fucking awesome.

Moving Mountains and The Appleseed Cast are similar to Explosions in the Sky and This Will Destroy You.

You guys should also check out This Town Needs Gun. They're not instrumental like EITS, but they most of their songs have ridiculous musicianship.

 

Good looking out. This Will Destroy You is a band I've heard and liked. Explosions is one of those bands, very emotional, but very heavy and moving all at once. I saw them on Austin City Limits some years back and I was just like, "whoa." Obviously playing most of the Friday Night Lights soundtrack really put their names out there, but their earlier stuff is jaw dropping.
