If I pass you on the highway, then you've been passed. But it's in the past now, so it doesn't matter.
Down 21-17 at the 2 minute warning, the Jets hold no time outs and the Bengals have the ball at their own 1/2 yard line after a goal-line stand. Needing to kneel 3 times for the win, but unable to use the victory formation, the Bengals run on first and second down and gain no yardage. 3rd down, 31 seconds to go, the Bengals run for 5 to seal the game, or so they think. There's an illegal hands to the face penalty on the Bengals that occurred in the endzone, causing a safety. The subsequent free punt results in a Josh Cribbs return to the Bengals 43 at 23 seconds. Geno Smith runs for 12 yards on first down at which point a field goal is kicked to end the game.
While I don't think the Jets need a penalty to win, I'll go with Unsportmanlike Conduct: Blow Beneath the Knees. 15 yard penalty 42 yard field goal for the win.
I don't care if there is a penalty but I love these thrilling finishes for our four wins. I hope we win a nailbiter against the Bengals.
Fourth down from the 50, trailing by two points - Geno throws behind Cumberland, off his hands incomplete...until a helmet-to-helmet hit gives us fifteen yards on the personal foul and a first down. Folk misses the first game-winner, but the kick doesn't count because Lewis calls a 'ice the kicker' timeout. Folk promptly drills the second one, Jets win.
The best part about this whole, "the jets got hand gifted wins" is the Jets dominated Tampa and dominated the Pats in 4 quarters (+1 OT) of football.
After the Jets failto convert on 4th and goal, two Bengals cheerleaders who have been taunting the Jets mothers that are attending the game, attack one of the Jets wide receivers. A personal foul is called on the Bengals. Geno runs in the game winning touchdown. Ball game. Belichick watches a replay of the game and accuses the Jets cheerleaders of doing the same thing.
