I love the fact that this season features such an abundance of young, unproven talent with so much potential. Not just the draft class, which I can cross my fingers and say may be the second best ever (2000 with the four 1st rounders and Coles in the 3rd) but Wilkerson, Ellis, Maybin, and even marginal guys like Sapp and Jeff Cumberland get me excited about what they may do for the team once they really get that chance to take the next step. And Tebow, of course. Even when he's not on the field, he has an effect on a team that is undeniable. I just don't see him standing around in a huge coat and carrying a clipboard on Sundays. He's going to be a leader on the team, its just what he is, and the Jets knew that when they brought him here. Its a great thing for a team that needed it, but I'm aware I am opening a can of worms just saying that, so I'll just stop right here.
I am hoping Coples can have an Aldon Smith like impact for us. Outside of the Jets I am intrigued to see how Luck and RG III perform this year.
Outside of the Jets I'm looking forward to seeing what Cam Newton can do in year two, how Manning (and the Broncos as a whole) bounces back and Luck and RGIII. I also want to see Brady fail but that probably isn't going to happen...unfortunately. To be honest this is probably the first year that I'm just as interested to see how some non-Jets do as I am to see how some Jets do.
I'm 100% with you on that. So many interesting story lines going into the season. Can't wait to see it all unfold.
A lot of players to watch this season. For starters, like many I'm very interested to see what Tebow will look like on our squad. The rookies will be fun to watch too as always. But if I had to pick one player I'm most excited to see, I'd have to go with Kerley. I liked Kerley a lot last year and I think he's got potential. He seemed like the only one actually trying to win on offense in Week 17, and even before that I liked what I saw of his PR and receiving. Now I'm not sure I see a future superstar, but he seemed to give it his all last year and was truly excited to play, unlike some of our other receivers. And let's be honest, that 41-yard pass against the Dolphins was pretty sweet.
Hill, Maybin, Wilk, and Coples. I mainly want to see if we can get a vertical game going on O and a pussrush on D.
Wilkerson, Wilson, Coples, Hill, and further progress on Revis to be one of the all time greats. Also.... TEBOW.
Mark Sanchez himself. Schotty is gone & he's been in the league enough to "get it". With the rookies, I'm really looking forward to the 3rd round pick Demario Davis develop. He'll add a lot of speed to the LB core & hopefully can be a starting LB when next season starts. Outside the Jets, I'm most curious about Trent Richardson. There was so much speculation in the off-season that Jets would trade everything to move up for him. If he can get put up decent stats next season in that murderous division, everyone should be impressed.
I've got to go with Mark. He is the key to how far we go this year, and it's his make or break year in year 4. Besides that though, I am very curious to see how Wilson improves, Wilk improves, and to see Maybin get better. On offense, I'm very hopeful on our question marks on o-line. I think it will be our weak spot still, but I have a good feeling at least one guy will out play his expectations. I think Turner and Chaz can impress a lot more than expected, and that Kerley will possibly lead the team in receptions.
coples, i guess. but i'm actually most excited to see sparano's offense. i really hope the jets can just play to their strengths and finally stop trying to 'trick' other teams. the most frustrating thing was when they would run effectively and then, for no reason except 'surprise' change the game plan. if you've got an advantage, use it. seems sparano is down with that plan. i hope he sticks to it.
sanchez, demario davis, maybin and hunter. if these 4 play well this year we go from possible palyoff contenders to constant super bowl contenders for the foreseeable future
Its a stretch but it would add to are already stout core in Revis,Harris,Mangold,Ferguson, Lots of questions still about Hunter; and Maybin's weight With the 4-3 being used more I see Davis playing weak side Linebacker for aganist TE's early on Sanchez...Just needs some quick throws and some pace/rythem in his offense. I hope we dont wait till the clock is near 2 every play like last year Sanchez throwing well? Will they sub in Teebow to ruin the flow? Probably; but I hope not
