Great story! I'll amend my statement by saying, I can see where a fan of, say, the Steelers buys a Roethlisberger jersey. Ben was going to be a Steeler for a long time. That makes sense, but with the Jets, nobody seems to have a long term relationship with this franchise anymore. I think Shonn Greene wore #23, among others.
For me I have the following Jets jerseys. Road white-(Mangold, Revis, and now Darnold). Home green-( Martin). A couple of Jets t-shirts and Jets sweatshirts. Also have a Jets sticker on the back of my jeep.
I’m not trying to send a message or anything, but I have never purchased gear for any of the teams that I’m a fan of. I’m cheap and I like to keep my money in my pocket, not give it to the people who are already wealthy. I have been a lifelong fan of Mets, Jets, Islanders, Celtics, and I have nothing but a Jets sweatshirt.

I wouldn't be the man I am today without my Signed Eric smith jersey, the signature reads " I almost had it" in reference to the pass he almost picked off vs Peyton in the afc championship ! I've got my Dee Milner draft day jersey, fun fact did you know that ed reed had the privilege to share the field with Dee Milner ? I also had a Lorenzo maudlin jersey but I put it up for adoption
